🤍 5 years of Gratitude - A huge thank you to this amazing community!

Five years ago, in 2021, I took a leap and started Southern Doodle Boys with a vision, high standards, and a lot of faith.

Since then, this program has grown because of the incredible breeders who trusted my boys, believed in the consistency, and chose to build & grow their programs with me.

That trust is something I value & I’m so grateful.

Southern Doodle Boys was built on love for the breed, temperament, health, and doing things the right way — even when it wasn’t the easy way.

And I know you have many choices when selecting a stud. The fact that you choose mine truly means more than you know. 🥹

Well… this one’s bittersweet. 🥹

Oliver is stepping into retirement. 🐾

He has done his job and done it very well.

He’s done so much for my program & so many others as well as many pet families who have his offspring!! There are several who find me online and request breeders bc they want another Oliver puppy!

That speaks volumes about the quality dog he produces!!

There was a time when concerns were formally raised by Goldendoodle Association of North America suggesting Luka Ford was a carrier of genes that cause heart problems and demanded he be neutered and removed from the gene pool.

That was a serious claim based solely on emotion.

However we treated it seriously.

We requested evaluation.
We welcomed scrutiny.
We followed medical advice from professionals.

And now, Luka Ford has officially completed his advanced cardiac OFA evaluation.

No defects.
No neuter recommendation.
No structural faults.

Just confirmation that his heart is perfect!

Transparency matters.
Accountability matters.
Documentation matters.

When your program is built correctly, it can withstand examination.

We don’t operate on assumptions.
We operate on facts.

Goldendoodle Association of North America thank you for the opportunity to allow the process to speak for itself. A formal apology should be mandatory but I’m still waiting on a response from mid Dec so I won’t hold my breath.

Luka Ford stands exactly where he belongs as one of the most sought after studs on the market!

Breeder education moment 👇🏼

Let’s talk about using Lutalyse + swabs when there’s NO teaser bitch present.

A lot of people rely on having a bitch in heat to stimulate a stud… but what if you don’t?

Here’s what matters:

• Lutalyse is sometimes used under veterinary guidance to help stimulate libido or assist with collection timing. It can increase smooth muscle contraction and help some males respond better during collection. It is NOT a magic switch and it shouldn’t replace proper management or conditioning.

• Vaginal swabs (from a bitch in standing heat) can also be used to provide scent stimulation when a live teaser isn’t available. The scent alone can trigger interest and mounting behavior in many studs.

But here’s the key 👇🏼

A well conditioned, confident male should be able to collect reliably with minimal stress and appropriate stimulation.

Stud work is about management, preparation, and understanding your male not just “hoping he’s in the mood.”

Look who came for a visit after his first groom today!! Mr. Leo Kash!! Can you believe he’s already 7 months old?!

He’s so sweet and he just graduated from his basic training class and the trainer raved about him! He’s starting intermediate next week!!

He’s maturing very nicely!

✨ STUD SPOTLIGHT: KOBE ✨

Kobe may be tiny at 14 lbs, but he brings so much to the table. He’s light as a feather, super athletic, incredibly loyal, and hands-down one of the biggest cuddle bugs we have.

What really makes Kobe special is what he produces. Even when paired with standard-size females, he consistently throws very small offspring with beautiful structure, confident personalities, and that easy-going, loving temperament everyone hopes for.

And his coat… I’m not exaggerating when I say his curls are some of the softest I’ve ever felt loose, silky, and just gorgeous.

Kobe adds size, temperament, structure, and coat quality to a program in a really meaningful way. He’s one of those studs that quietly improves a line without trying too hard.

I’d love to see some updated Kobe babies in the comments!!!!

I recently had a last minute booking I couldn’t fulfill due to deposit booking obligations for the boy!

Last-minute boy searches often limit your best options.

When pairing decisions are rushed, breeders are more likely to:

• settle for availability instead of compatibility
• feel pressured during timing + shipping decisions
• miss the chance to truly improve their female with the best option.

The strongest pairings usually happen when planning starts before a female comes into heat, not during.

If you’re newer to breeding, what part of the stud-selection process feels the most overwhelming right now? How far in advance to start your search for a boy?
