If you have a dog, you are probably doing all you can to protect him/her from the dangers of the world. National Poison Prevention Awareness month is a good time to educate yourself on the dangers of accidental pet poisonings and how to prevent them. If an emergency occurs, and your emergency veterinary is unavailable, contact ASPCA’s poison control hotline at (888) 426-4435.

Symptoms to watch out for: vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stool, excessive urination, seizures, nosebleeds, loss of appetite, unusual behavior, dizziness, loss of coordination, lethargy, and unusual breathing patterns.

We are hoping to share more information on the most common toxins to dogs throughout March. Unfortunately, your furbaby won’t know the dangers of certain items but at least your furbaby has you to protect him/her.
