Coco was born Feb 11th at the Humane Society of Atchison and lived there almost 3 years before being adopted. She came to our house after her 2nd owner abused her. She was so loved and shared her house with the cats and never even snarled or barked at them when they stole her food. When her human dad passed away she missed him so much but now they are reunited. Coco has left a huge empty spot in our family but she will always be loved and remembered. God speed going over that rainbow bridge to see your dad.

We are so happy with how our grieving area turned out. This is a private space where families can say their final farewell to their pets.

Often times pets are brought to us when the passing has been sudden and families havenā€™t had much time to process or say goodbye.
It is our hope that this is a comforting space for families who leave their pets in our care.

It has been a really cool experience creating our new space. From the very beginning, I wanted a space that families would feel comfortable saying their final goodbye in.

If you have brought a pet to us in the past, I think you would be surprised at the transformation! The door in the photo leads to our grieving room. (Iā€™ll post pictures when the rest of our furniture comes in.)

This space is a perfect reminder that things donā€™t always have to be perfect as long as your heart is in the right place! šŸ’œ
