We have some absolutely exciting news to share from Borderline Psychos and all the Dock Diving dogs here!
First of all I’m beyond overwhelmed and in complete disbelief at the moment, BUT…
Not only did my personal dogs get all of their invites to regionals (except one, and we’ll get to that!) but my client dogs got theirs as well!
This has been a journey I was nervous and excited and scared about! I questioned the whole time if I had what it took to produce the results I was aiming for. (Cue up that imposter syndrome to the max!) I’ve watched countless hours of videos of my dogs, client dogs, training videos, training methods, Ive dreamed about this and woke up at 2 AM with a new method to try.. all of this on and off the dock.. I’ve gone out on the limb and asked clients to trust me and they’ve backed me 100%. They trusted me with their most loving and loyal companions.
AND IT PAID OFF!
I got to watch so many dogs I’d worked with take the dock this weekend and get personal bests and even Regional Invites. And it was so humbling! Seeing your hard work pay off in the moment and the handler smile the biggest smile is the biggest rush of emotions!
As I watched the Qualifier Scoreboard update I saw Chip slowly going down the ranks. For those who don’t know, Chip is my personal Border Collie, he’s a year and 4 months old and he’s just doing this for fun right now! He was in one of the most competitive divisions and held his own until Sunday afternoon when he got nudged down to 4th place. Not going to lie it was a little bit saddening until I realized something else.. two of the three dogs that knocked him out of the running were my client dogs! Now that put a lot of things into perspective for me!
I heard a lot of doubts when I started my business, a lot of “that won’t work” “you can’t do that” “that’s not something you can maintain long term” etc. Let me say one thing, Thank You! Thank you for challenging me, thank you for forcing me to believe in myself, thank you for doubting me! Because that fueled me all season!
I also want to thank Alexie Hartman from Three Lakes Labs for asking me to hold her dogs on the dock this weekend, one of which also received an invite! That was super cool and super exciting!
So I present to you all the amazing dogs I’ve worked with who got their invites to Regionals this year:
Client Dogs:
Charlie: Distance, Hydrodash
Clover Ada: Air Retrieve, Hydrodash, Distance
Havoc (Hallie): Distance
Nova: Air Retrieve, Hydrodash, Distance

Chip: Air Retrieve, Hydrodash

The amount of love and dedication these dogs represent is why I do what I do! Seeing not only the dogs but their owners excited about their accomplishments is so rewarding!
