The Ashland Bark Park will be an off-leash dog park that welcomes all Ashland residents and their dogs.

Our park provides a fenced-in small-dog/Senior area, as well as a large area for other dogs along with tables and benches, and plenty of poop bags.

With all the new park excitement, we are just now getting around to proudly recognize Ashland's Eagle Scout Adam Warnetski for completing his Eagle Scout Project by delivering a critical necessity to the Ashland Bark Park. Through thoughtful design, dedicated fundraising, and hands‑on construction, Adam led this project from start to finish.
This shed fills a major need for our community dog park, and we are forever in his debt for the time, care, and leadership he invested.

Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our table at the Dog Days Farmers Market yesterday! We had a blast talking about the Bark Park, meeting so many of you and sharing information about our amazing Bark Park — a great resource for both small and large dogs right here in Ashland.
Several folks signed up to learn more about being on the park subcommittee or park stewdardship.
Our canvas‑painting activity was a hit, and we had an incredible group of artists painting their own pups (and cats). We also raised funds to support ongoing park maintenance, and you’ll be seeing even more Bark Park dog magnets around town!

Our maintenance shed isn’t a posting spot for events, promotions, or solicitations. One flyer can start a trend, and repeated posting can damage the shed — which was newly built for us by the Scouts.
We hope to add a community board later on to recognize park sponsors, but - please respect the property and refrain from ANY advertising or soliciting ANYWHERE on the Bark Park grounds.
It’s almost strange that this needs to be said, but maintaining the park’s integrity is a shared responsibility.

Dog owners/BARK PARK visitors, we need your help. Picking up dog waste isn’t just about keeping the park clean and a park rule— it’s about keeping our dogs healthy. This park has only been open a couple of months — we shouldn’t already need to be posting reminders like this.
Dog f***s can carry Parvovirus, Giardia, hookworms, and other pathogens that linger in contaminated soil for months — even years. Parvo alone can survive in the ground for up to two years, making it easy for disease to spread between visiting dogs.
Please lead by example: pick up after your dog, and if you see waste that isn’t yours, scoop it anyway. Responsible dog owners protect the whole community.
Leaving waste behind affects public health and the long‑term use of this space. And if you think picking it up is unpleasant… try stepping in it.

Update Your Details:
-Make sure collars have current ID tags
-Confirm your microchip registry has your up‑to‑date phone number and address
-Keep pets indoors only during fireworks; bring outdoor cats inside a day early
Creating a Safe Space:
-Close windows, draw blinds, and lock doors to block noise and flashes
-Use background sound: TV, soothing music, or white noise
-Set up a hideout: crate, blanket fort, or open closet
-Try calming gear like a Thundershirt for dogs
Exercising & Distracting:
-Tire them out early with a long walk or play session
-Offer long‑lasting treats like a frozen peanut‑butter Kong to keep them busy
Managing Severe Anxiety:
-Talk to your vet about calming treats, pheromone diffusers, or medication
-Stay calm — pets mirror your energy

We’re finally catching our breath after getting the Bark Park up and running, and we want to take a moment to give a huge shout‑out to - AnyFence. They generously donated a portion of the product and installation for our fencing enclosure and gates — an incredible contribution that helped make this project possible.
They were so easy to work with, communicated with us throughout the process, and were genuinely excited to help bring something new to our community. We’re grateful for their partnership and their support of Ashland.
