Well, until yesterday we have managed to not have any major issues while having kittens, but Nova decided to break that streak. She got 4 healthy kittens out, but then things came to a grinding halt. She tried her best to push the 5th kitten out, but it just wasn’t happening. I took her to an emergency vet, and you can see what she was struggling with in the x-ray below. The vet tried to reposition the kitten, but she couldn’t move it enough, so Nova had to have a c-section. The surgery went well, and while they weren’t able to save the 2 kittens, they were able to preserve Nova’s uterus. Nova is also doing great, and when returned to her 4 new kittens, she happily resumed her momma duties. While it wasn’t the perfect outcome, we are thankful that things went as well as they did. 💕💕
