Thank You all for making the summer a success.
I am taking the stand down until after Labor Day. Hopefully it won’t be as hot. We will be back with fresh new stock of items. Maybe the chickens will have upped their laying game. In the meantime if anyone would like to request something send me a msg. Or if there is something you would like to see added let me know.

🌱 The final harvest of the season is almost here. 🌱

As I walk through the garden and look at what’s left on the vines, I’m reminded that every growing season has its ending — but an ending is really just the beginning of what comes next.

Anything still left on the vines will be allowed to go to seed, giving us the promise of new growth next year. Some of our best-producing pepper plants will be carefully dug up and overwintered, so we can bring them back when spring arrives. I’m also going to propagate some of the tomato plants and grow them inside over the winter, while experimenting with cutting some back and overwintering them as well. 🌿

The fire ants have claimed what remains of the okra, drawn to the moisture in the pods. Even the challenges in the garden are part of the process — nature always has a way of reminding us that we’re not completely in charge. 😉

And while the garden is slowing down, the farm stand isn’t going anywhere! We’ll continue to have fresh eggs, jams, and, of course, plenty of freeze-dried candy throughout the year. 🍓🥚🍬

I’m already dreaming up some new ideas for fall, and I’d love to hear from you…

What would you like to see at the farm stand this fall? 🍂

Thank you for following along, supporting our little farm, and being part of the journey. Every season brings something new to learn, grow, and look forward to. ❤️🌱

Would anyone be interested in a balsamic onion jam? It makes an amazing sandwich spread.

This has too be the luckiest chicken around. To start with she looks like a rooster that wasn’t in her favor, however she started laying eggs. She has got her head hung and scalped her self at least 2 times, just because she sticks it where she shouldn’t. She has been got by the dogs because she will fly over into their yard, even though I clip their wings. She had a hawk attack her and escaped. Now this, I don’t know how long she was in the water. It hadn’t been checked since this morning.
