Black Tie Optional is looking sharp!!

Black Tie Optional had his first work at Santa Anita Park, breezing three furlongs in :36.60 while on the inside of Gamine ‘23. The goal was to get the duo acclimated to the new surface, which is why we saw the cut back to 3/8 despite both previously having breezed two half-miles at Los Alamitos. We expect he will be firing back next week with a half-mile workout.

Woodburn Breeze Report

Woodburn breezed this morning at Ian Brennan Stables, and looked excellent working outside of his stable mate. He was clearly going much easier of the two and was under a tight hold throughout from his rider.

In the next few weeks, Woodburn will make his way to Saratoga to continue his next phase of training.

Woodburn Update

Taking a dip grows in popularity as the summer heat creeps closer. Woodburn continues to build strength and conditioning on the aqua walker, which provides additional fitness training under low-impact conditions. He is expected to breeze once more over the weekend, and then travel to New York shortly thereafter.

Excitement builds as we continue our focus to add quality two year old colts to the roster.

Next up- Dalmore.

A syndicated partnership with MRH and L&N Racing, this handsome son of McKinzie landed on the MRH radar when he breezed a sharp :10 flat and galloped out in :20.37.

Dalmore will join the barn of Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen with a debut at Saratoga on the horizon.

Foaled Apr. 28. 2024- Dalmore caught the eye of MRH with his substance, powerful hip, shoulder, athletic walk and classy disposition.

Boasting a strong cardio score, Dalmore demonstrates he should easily be able to stretch out beyond a mile.

Start the Party: Check In

Start the Party continues to spend time turned out and swimming on Wesley's farm. We are not in a big hurry to push him hard, but do believe he will be ready to head back to the track later this month. Start the Party is a bigger, more robust horse, so we want to make sure that he is back to 100%, and that his shin has fully recuperated before putting him back into training. For now, he will remain on Wesley’s farm and continue to build fitness in the pool.
