Fall leaves are beautiful, crunchy, and apparently full of the most fascinating smells known to dogkind.

But here’s something to keep in mind during your autumn walks!

🍁 Fallen leaves can hide things you don’t want your dog stepping on or investigating.

Sharp sticks, broken glass, litter, and other debris can easily disappear beneath a pile of leaves.

That doesn’t mean your dog can’t enjoy a good sniffing session! Just keep an eye on where they’re exploring, especially in deep piles or along the curb.

🐾 The takeaway: Let them sniff, explore, and enjoy fall—but remember that you can’t always see what’s hiding underneath those pretty leaves!

One of the things I absolutely love about being a dog walker is getting to experience all four seasons up close.

And FALL? Oh, she’s showing off right now! 😍🍂

The gorgeous colors, the crisp air, the leaves scattered everywhere… I could spend all day admiring it.

Same walk. Three very different perspectives.

And I wouldn’t trade these little moments for anything. ❤️🐾🍁

One of the things I absolutely love about being a dog walker is getting to experience all four seasons up close.

And FALL? Oh, she’s showing off right now!

The gorgeous colors, the crisp air, the leaves scattered everywhere… I could spend all day admiring it.

When it happens, acknowledge it! A little praise, attention, or an occasional treat can help reinforce the habit.

Your dog doesn’t need to spend the whole walk staring at you—sniffing, exploring and enjoying the world is part of the fun! 🐶 But those little “You still back there?” moments are pretty great to encourage. 😂🐾 DogsOfWisconsin
