Welcome to Crepe Myrtle Animal Hospital. We are a full service veterinary medical and boarding facility that provides comprehensive companion animal healthcare. We believe in a partnership between you, our veterinarians, and your pet. A partnership designed to promote optimum health, comfort, and longevity. Since 1999, Dr. Denise Barbour, DVM and her caring staff have provided outstanding veterinary care for the furry and feathered pets within the Angier community and surrounding areas. Please note that all cats and dogs will be required to have a current rabies vaccination for all services including nail trims. Please be prepared to either present a valid rabies certificate at the time of your appointment or have your pet vaccinated while here. Especially considering the recent confirmed case of a rabid racoon in Angier, this policy is in place for the safety of your pet, your family, and our staff. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call us. Rabies vaccinations are not only our policy, but also are legally required and we appreciate your cooperation.

Miranda stop choking Skinny Boy, we love him! Our buddy came back for his booster vaccine today. I heard he was very brave but pretty interested in taking an unaccompanied hospital tour. Sorry, buddy, employees only. 🐈‍⬛🛑😻

Look at sweet, Luci! She decided to grow a horn but Dr. Schillig thought it should probably be removed. Actually what he said was “stop saying she is a unicorn, Lee Ann. The mass needs to come off”. I’m pretty sure her mama would take my side. Fun fact, Luci, is completely deaf so the staff kept correcting themselves today. Luci was just happy to be invited to the party 🎉 🦄💕🐶

Dogs communicate constantly through body language. Tail position, ears, posture, facial expressions, vocalizations, and even how they move can give us clues about whether they’re relaxed, excited, nervous, or uncomfortable. Learning to recognize those signals can help you better understand your dog. Questions about a behavior change? Call (919) 639-8387.

That widdle bitty baby is Nacho! He’s the almost four-year-old Chihuahua of Dr. Craig. I’ve renamed him “Nachito” and fortunately it’s catching on with the team. I recently learned he was “picked up at a Dollar General like a drug deal”. I’m dead. He was found on Craigslist after his mama had an accidental litter. I love this kid even if the feeling is one-sided. 🌮🌯🐾💕🐶

On this week’s edition of “Who’s Baby Is This?” (I’m workshopping the name, don’t worry) I looove this baby and he is slowly warming up to me. It definitely helps when I’m eating chips and salsa (hint, hint). 🌮🌯❤️🐶

Today is World Mental Health Day. At CMAH we give free mental health support to all our employees. I personally have lost a veterinarian to su***de and do not want to lose another colleague. Here’s data about Veterinary Technicians. Please keep this in mind the next time you interact with our team. Let’s all offer support to the people caring for our pets.
