Next up we have sweet Feather! Black spayed German Shepherd (mix?). Approx 5 yrs old but it's a guess.

Feather came into rescue through Second Start Rescue in a horrible way. She was found in a known dumping area presumably deceased. She weighed less than 30 lbs when they found her and her front right leg was injured beyond repair. The specialist decided she can keep the leg because she does use it.

She adores people and would be happy to go on a leisurely stroll and just hang out with her people. She's great about entertaining herself with chews and toys.

✅ People social
✅ Dog neutral
✅ Crate trained
✅ Has basic obedience
✅ Lower energy

*** She came with a lot of arousal and frustration that she directed at dogs but we worked through those issues and she's now safe and comfortable at liberty with all dogs including the constant flow of dogs that don't live here. Because she does have a prior incident on record though, she will be considered dog selective and a good candidate for a single dog home through the rescue.

Pics in the comments and I will link some stories about her recovery. It really did take a village to bring her back to heath both physically and mentally and I'm glad I was able to be a part of her story 💖

Freya - approx 3.5 yr old black female Dutch Shepherd. She's small and intense. Plenty of drive to channel into sport and needs a home that is capable of giving her the physical activity she craves!

She came recovering from flea dermatitis and her hair is finally coming back!

✅ People social
✅ Dog neutral
✅ Has basic training
✅ Crate trained
✅ High energy

❌ While she does enjoy kids and lived with several she does have a bite on one. It was a situation where the child fell into her but I prefer to be transparent so we can find her best placement.

Let me know if you're interested! While she is current on preventatives and vaccines she is not spayed. If not spayed before I find placement the expectation is that she will be spayed by the adopter.

I'm frequently asked how I get to the level of off leash reliability I have with work, sports and life without resorting to e collar management. Here's a glimpse. A bunch of dogs and people milling about as we train and I send Katana right into the fray to hunt her ball. Obviously I make sure I'm doing this with people and dogs that are game to set us up for success, especially since I'm still developing her hunt drive. I don't avoid hard situations, I utilize them.

Shout out to Vader the adolescent cattle dog mix and his handler AJ! They've been working on his over arousal and reactivity and they handled themselves beautifully.

Tsuki & Frannie hitting a big milestone during their board and train! This is an accumulation of social training, obedience, exposure and adventure training. They're ready to take on the world together now.... No for real watch out for Frannie, I'm pretty sure she has plans for world domination 👀👑🤣 IYKYK

Swifty says thinkeratin' is hard work! This guy is all do, no think but slowly... ever so slowly I see those brain cells starting to rub together 🤣

He's helping our friend AJ gain experience working with dogs like him. Not only are we working on his ability to handle pet life but he'll also be learning scent sports while here to give him an outlet for all that intensity. It's hard being a dog with big feelings and a big engine with a body that can't handle how active he really wants to be. He has an old hock injury that limits him to lower impact activity and sports. He has typical arousal and conflict issues that come with the breed but there's a lot of potential there!

He's a current foster of mine from Green Dogs Unleashed if you're interested in learning more!

I'm not crying, you are 😭

Hip! has moved onto his new home 💖 After nearly a year with me we finally had the perfect applicants who are knowledgeable, patient and willing to put in the work to build a relationship. I'm going to miss him but am so excited for his new journey!

⭐⭐ I'm very passionate about making sure we set rescue dogs up for success and that includes training, placing on best fit and continued support after placement!
