I have seen many farmers recommend adding goldfish to an animal trough to combat algae, so I am giving it a whirl.

Part of owning livestock has been adjusting to unexpected illness and death. I have learned so much in my three years of owning goats.

My sweet 2 1/2 year old whether Knox (formerly “the fat one” according to Will), has been on the decline for the last few months. Losing weight, weak, more anemic than normal despite a low parasite load.

My friend drew a blood sample this week to send for additional testing to try to determine the cause. For now he’s enjoying being pampered with daily Vitamin B injections, probiotics, and extra TLC.
