👑 Say Hello to Princess Buttercup! 👑
Princess Buttercup may be tiny, but she has a huge personality! This sweet girl starts purring the second she spots her people and is always ready for attention and interaction. Playful, affectionate, and full of charm, she's sure to bring plenty of smiles to her future family.
One of her most adorable features is the little patch of color on top of her head — it looks just like a tiny princess crown resting on her beautiful white coat. 🤍👑

Update on the two kittens we're helping. Unfortunately, the gray kitten, Percy, continued to deteriorate despite medical care. His finder ended up having to take him to the emergency vet and he was humanely euthanized.

His little orange brother, Megatron, is living up to his name as a fighter and continues to do well, thanks to your support!

These babies need our help! They were taken in by a Good Samaritan after their mother passed away. There were three kittens originally but one also passed. These two survivors, Percival (gray tabby) and Megatron (orange tabby), are dehydrated and malnourished and will be heading to Family Animal Hospital of Friendswood today so we can get them checked out and see what we can do to get them healthy again and eating.

✨ Meet Sugar ✨

With her stunning blue eyes and the soft dusting of orange on her ears and tail, we believe sweet kitten Sugar may be a Flame Point Siamese mix — and she is every bit as gorgeous as she sounds! 😍

Sugar has a gentle, thoughtful personality that makes her extra special. She’s the kind of kitten who likes to sit back and observe what her littermates are up to before deciding to jump into the fun herself. Once she joins in, though, she’s all kitten — playful, curious, and completely adorable. 🐾

One of the sweetest things about Sugar is how she greets her foster with happy little purrs the moment she gets attention. 💙

Great news! Our last two available barn cats, Tom and Vegas, have been adopted by Blue Ridge Farms. We delivered them this morning and got them set up in their own little house where they'll stay for 6 weeks to get acclimated. Then they'll be allowed to explore outside. We're so thankful that they found a great home together because they were quite bonded.

As a side note, it's very important when you have barn cats, especially feral ones, that you confine them for several weeks to get used to their new home. Otherwise, they're likely to take off and get lost.

We wish them happy trails and a happy life on a farm run by friends and animal lovers!

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we hold dear.
At Starlight Outreach and Rescue, this day holds special meaning as our organization is led by a proud United States Air Force veteran.
Today, we also remember the military service animals who served alongside our troops and made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage, loyalty, and sacrifice should never be forgotten.
As we honor the fallen, we ask you to join us in remembering both the human and animal heroes who gave so much for our freedom.
