Meet Borat 🐣
This tiny baby emu arrived at Alpine Acres yesterday after hatching on April 26 — and already, he’s stolen every heart on the farm.
Borat was hatched at a home and was initially going to go to a horse ranch, but when it became clear that environment wouldn’t be adequate for his needs, he found his way to us. Good thing he did — because Borat came with a challenge. He developed leg issues that make it impossible for him to walk on his own.
Within hours of his arrival, we had him in with the incredible Dr. Hare for a full exam, weight check, and custom braces. He’s currently settled in a stall in the barn with soft mats so he doesn’t slip while he builds his strength.
At night, Borat goes home with Agnes — tucked into a cozy box so she can monitor him closely, feed him, and make sure he doesn’t topple into his bowls. Until he’s steady enough to manage on his own, he’s got a personal night nurse. 🐣
Dr. Hare is hopeful Borat will walk. And honestly? So are we. 🙏
