Shout-out to the real ones who have earned the equivalent of a PhD in dog cohabitation.
Sharing our homes with sentient little beings is often described as nothing short of euphoric. And sure, social media is full of the highlight reel: the cute cuddles, the sweet faces, and the perfectly behaved little dogs, cats, and what-have-you.
But I’m here for the other side, too.
To those of you experiencing what sometimes feels like a reverse Stockholm syndrome with your pets: I see you. I’m with you through every mishap, every moment of mayhem, and every “what on earth possessed you to do that?” moment.
I know what it’s like to share your space with a dog that most people wouldn’t keep. In fact, three homes have already said so.
Jokes aside, I can’t help but be grateful for everything this dog has taught me. Truthfully, I don’t think this business would exist if it weren’t for a few of her… *contributions.*
She’s taught me patience, understanding, and just how much compassion it takes to care for an animal who doesn’t always fit neatly into the box of what we expect a pet to be.
So, when you tell me about your pet’s quirks, challenges, behavioral struggles, or special needs, and I respond with, “It’s okay,” please know that I mean it.
No judgment. No raised eyebrows. Just understanding, experience, and a genuine commitment to helping your pets feel safe and comfortable while you’re away.
Because every pet deserves compassionate care, even the ones who come with a little extra ✨personality.✨
So please, book that trip. Take that weekend away. Visit your family. Go on that vacation and enjoy every minute of it.
You take care of making memories. I’ve got the rest.
