🌡️ HOT DAYS CAN HURT PAWS 🐾
As temperatures rise, remember that pavement and asphalt can become much hotter than the air temperature and can burn your dog’s paws in seconds.
Before heading out, use the 7-second test: place the back of your hand on the pavement. If it’s too hot for you to hold for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your pup.
☀️ Walk during cooler morning or evening hours
💧 Bring plenty of water
🌳 Stick to shaded and grassy areas when possible
🐾 Watch for signs of heat stress such as excessive panting, weakness, vomiting, or collapse
Your dog’s safety comes first. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy summer safely!
