Should’ve trained last weekend when we had 50° temps and no snow! A foot of snow didn’t slow us down, got the young dogs on some birds and even got the old dogs out for a quick brace.

We are excited to partner up with Kyle Benjamin on this purposeful breeding between two exceptional German Shorthair lines that have proven themselves where it matters— in the testing world and on wild birds.

Murph is an intense, driven dog with natural ability, and strong desire. Her NA1 and UT2 scores reflect a dog that has what’s most important - prey drive. Murph is intelligent, athletic and has a great nose which makes her a standout on wild birds.

Thor brings elite credentials as a Versatile Champion and FC/AFC combining high-level performance with trainability and durability. He is powerful, birdy, and honest in the field, with the kind of presence and consistency that shows up both in competition and on long days chasing wild birds.

Together, this pairing is expected to produce pups with:

Had to dig out this morning so we got a late start on the day but Duke made quick work of em in this fresh snow. 3 up 3 down, with plenty left for next time. We even made it back in time to watch the Clones beat the Hawks in some wrestling.

What a fantastic weekend at Cyclone NAVHDA’s fall test. First off we would like to thank the Cyclone Chapter and the judges for hosting and taking the time to evaluate the dogs, these tests don’t happen without the people.

Saturday Carter ran Mabel in Natural Abilty at 4 months of age. One small hiccup on the pheasant track kept her out of the coveted max score and she ended the day with a Prize 2, and 106 points. She’s ready to do big dog things and tear up the pheasant fields this fall.

Sunday Shelby Benjamin proved everyone right, Duke is a Prize 1 dog with a Prize 2 handler! Shelby, you handled Duke to perfection earning a 192 point Utility Prize 1 in your first ever NAVHDA International test! Congratulations and thank you for handing Duke to his fullest potential!

Congratulations to Eric and Rusty on their Natural Ability Prize 1 today! Eric knew Rusty could put a better day together than his run at Hawkeye so he made the trip up to the North Central Wisconsin NAVHDA chapter to run him in NA one more time! I’d say the trip was worth it, 107 point Prize 1!

Took Rusty down to the Hawkeye NAVHDA Natural Ability test today and while we may not be coming home with a prize we are coming home with excitement for the upcoming pheasant season. Overall Rusty had a good day but just couldn’t quite focus on finishing out the pheasant track, keeping him out of prize contention. Nonetheless, it’s been great to see his progress over these last couple of months and he really showed off his field search for us today! I expect lots of birds to be harvested over this young pup in the near future!
