Colby did great, just picked him up and ready to drop him off to rest and we are headed to the Monthly play date.

And…… we found the humans of the pug girl stray from this week! And we are going to spay and microchip her for them this week so that if this ever happens again, she can be reunited quickly. And team no babies!!

She was very loved, very well taken care of. And had tiny humans who missed her. She got scared from some thunder and got lost! 🙏❤️ Happy Ending!!

Colby has had a rough day, as have we!! This little guy came into us with the other puppy crew from down south and he was diagnosed with really bad Coccidia. He also has a non-formed eye which we were going to remove when we got him neutered.

He’s only about 10 to 12 weeks, well this morning we woke up to a severe pr*****ed re**um. I rushed him down to the vet. They were able to get it back in, but we knew it was only a 50-50 shot and by the time we got home the stitch had already come out.

So Mike had to race him back down to the vet where he underwent surgery just now and while he was under, they were able to do a coloplexy to adhere the lining to his abdomen, neuter and remove his non formed eye. That’s a lot for a little guy, but thankfully he won’t have to go under multiple times. He did good in surgery, was awake & resting tonight.

We can pick him up tomorrow & all the things we had planned to do today got scrapped to take care of this sweet boy! 🙏🙏🙏

Update🙌🏻🚨 - Poor Colby already tore through the prolapse stitch as we got home! 🙌🏻🚨🚨🚨

Mike in enroute to get him back to the vet for surgery! Please pray for this little 10 week old boy, he already has an eye that wasn’t formed in the womb, had severe Coccidia, which most likely caused his prolapse. He is tough, but he needs your prayers!!! Back yard breeders be damned as we fight to save the innocent. 🥹

How did my Friday morning start, might you ask??? I was originally going to text our vet as we have some infected nares on a pug boy after surgery, BUT then one of our puppies had a pr*****ed re**um this AM, so off to the vet we rushed again!! They got it back in, and I will SPARE you the photos, as it was NOT pretty. Actually, pretty scary! Colby is doing good and waking up from sedation. And Onyx is just fine with steroid, more antibiotics and we ran some bloodwork since he was there to double, triple check him. (I will say he thought a pup cup and some egg bites were amazing as a treat for his adventure.)🙏❤️

I am headed back home to finally go to the laundromat to wash beds, which was my original plan at 7 a.m. this morning. And yes, it is a two-coffee afternoon. ☕️☕️

Hey, sorry we’ve been a little quiet. We had A LOT going on. Here are a few updates:

✔️ This Sat. is our monthly pug play date from 10-12 p.m. at North Domingo BACA Dog park. 🦴🐾

✔️ We have several applications from this week to follow up on and will bring a few available pugs to the meetup Sat!

✔️ We had 3 separate vet days this week with 10 dogs at the vet and next week 3 surgeries. It can always change! And does….

✔️ I have to leave town next week unexpectedly, so it’s going to be more chaotic than normal for Mike. 😳 He will take the week off to care for all the pugs.

✔️ We have halted intake but are still taking emergencies on a case-by-case basis. It really is heartbreaking when you have to decide which one to say yes to and which to say no. 😭😭

✔️ And on that note - we may have a female & male, babies coming in Sunday from Las Cruces. The female is heartworm positive and just gave birth last night in the shelter to 5 puppies. 🥺

✔️ We have several people who have offered to foster - thank you so very much. We thankfully have been matching pugs to homes. So we’re trying to limit transitioning them from place to place while they finish vetting & meetups. But will definitely reach out as we see ones needing foster. 😉

✔️ And we will be updating all of the currently available pugs with lots of details. I think some of our boys are getting overlooked and are so awesome! 😎

Welcome Caramel & King! These adorable pugs have had a tough life, living outside without the love, attention, and sometimes even food, water, and definitely not the companionship they truly deserve.

But guess what? That’s all about to change! Their kind neighbor stepped in when the owner moved, offering them a fresh start and a brighter future. We’re here to help make that happen. They’re 5 and 8-10 years old, and they’re absolutely adorable and sweet. We’re not sure if they’re very attached to each other yet, but we’ll definitely check that out before adopting. We always want to find the perfect home for them, where they’ll get everything they need if that’s together or okay apart. 🐾🥰
