𝗪𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗕𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗠.
Yep. This one is for animal welfare.
We got into this because we saw animals needing help and didn’t want to sit back waiting for “someone” to do something.
So 𝙬𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚.
We learned how to trap. How to transport. What places to call. Where to go. What resources existed.
None of us came out of the womb knowing this s**t. 𝗪𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱.
But somewhere along the way, rescues and volunteers became the public’s version of unpaid animal control.
❓Found a cat?
😪Call a rescue.
❓Found kittens?
😪Tag a rescue.
❓Injured animal?
😪Someone tag the animal people.
And because we care about the animal, what do we do?
Typically we swoop in and handle it.
Again.
And again.
And again.
But maybe we need to admit something:
𝗪𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗪𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧.
Every time we do everything for a capable person, we help today’s animal…
but we teach that person absolutely 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 for the next one.
‼️And THAT matters.
Because there aren’t enough of us.
❌There aren’t enough rescuers.
❌There aren’t enough trappers.
❌There aren’t enough fosters.
❌There aren’t enough volunteers.
And there sure as hell aren’t enough hours in the day for the same handful of people to keep being everyone’s personal animal control.
So when someone is capable of participating?
𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲.
💙We’ll teach you how to trap.
💙We’ll show you where to go.
💙We’ll give you resources.
💙We’ll walk you through it.
📞 But YOU make the call.
🚗 YOU transport if you’re able.
📝 YOU learn something from this.
Because the goal shouldn’t be creating a community that knows who to call.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼.
Think about the difference.
If we swoop in today, one animal gets helped.
But if we teach someone how to handle it today?
We may have just created another person capable of helping the NEXT animal.
That’s how we grow animal welfare.
❌Not by making ourselves indispensable.
❌Not by becoming unpaid animal control.
❌Not by continuing to do everything because “it’s just easier if I do it myself.”
✅By creating more people who know how to help.
There will never be enough of us to personally save every animal that needs someone.
So maybe one of the best things we can do for animals…is create more someones. 💙
