Protectors of Paws & Claws A rescue organization with the goal of facilitating animal rescue by enhancing the adoption process for humans and their non-human companions.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated within NYS. Our mission is to facilitate animal rescue by enhancing the adoption process for humans and their non-human companions. We are also committed to initiating the conversation about the role of race, culture, discrimination, and bias in the pet world.

Meet Snap! Our vet reached out to us about a beloved 10 year old rabbit whose owner had fallen on hard times and was facing the heartbreaking decision of how to keep her safe and cared for. After a decade of love and dedication, asking for help was not easy. This is a senior rabbit, currently on medication for bladder stones, so we are providing hospice style foster care to keep her comfortable, supported, and closely monitored.

This is what community looks like. Rescue is not just about the animal, it is about showing up for people during some of their hardest moments. We are honored to make sure this sweet bunny remains safe and cared for, while also ensuring the person who loved her for 10 years feels compassion and support, not judgment.
