Anyone that follows us in the Jacksonville area, we need your help! A friend is missing her beautiful lovebird, Mango. He flew off of her back porch a couple hours ago and she hasn't been able to find him. We are hoping he has gone somewhere to roost for the night, but with it being such a windy night we don't know how far from home he will get. Mango is a handraised baby and he has a limp. He is a great flier and is fully flighted. He was last seen in the Tredinik Pkwy area of Jax. Please keep an eye out for him, and if there are any sightings please let me or Daniela Gonzalez know immediately. I know I don't have to tell you all how much this baby means to her and to her family. Give your babies an extra snuggle and pray Mango makes his way home ASAP.

I totally forgot to post that Honey and Hedwig did in fact hatch 3 beautiful babies! The two lutinos are female (and lutinos Honey produces are automatically female because it is a sex-linked color varients) and they are actually twins! Well, in the sense that they hatched on the same day. Their names are Beatrice and Billie (named by Penny...of course...) and the other little guy hatched four days after his sisters. I say "he" but we have no idea if he is male or female. In any case his name is Sully and he is my precious wee baby. I adore them all. Beatrice is actually a pearled lutino, which is a really cool color varient. I expect nothing less from my gorgeous Honey and Hedwig, as they are the most beautiful birds on earth so naturally all of their babies are stunners.

Every time August realizes we are making formula he expects to be given a portion. Mind you, August is coming up on his second birthday and does NOT need formula. He feels differently....

Happy New Year everyone!
Things have been pretty busy over here so I haven't posted an update in awhile. We dismantled our breeding cages and have everyone split between two large indoor aviaries. Our former breeding birds have settled in happily and are enjoying their new home. I'd like to report 0 instances of my former breeders becoming hormonal and trying to lay eggs this breeding season. Wooo!
I can't say the same about my non breeding birds. Honey and Hedwig decided that despite my best efforts they were going to try to expand the family. 😑 They have been moved to a cage of their own with a box, and they are currently sitting on 5 fertile eggs. We will see what happens there, but I am not counting my chickens before they hatch.
I have some pretty amazing news to share though! Harvey's daughter successfully hatched and raised 5 beautiful babies! We really wanted Harvey and Pete's line to continue, and Kitt made that happen. These babies are prized above rubies in our family, and will have homes between myself and close family friends. Enjoy some pictures of our flock and of our new babies. I think Harvey would have been very proud of her grandbirdies. We miss her so much, but they ease the ache a little.
