The A litter has made it to the prairie!

The Walker brothers joined me for a few days with Duke and Gunny, and it’s been a blast watching these young dogs get after wild birds alongside their mom, Koko, and Rose.

Lots of points, backs, birds, and lessons learned along the way. These young dogs are putting it together and making us proud.

A pretty special weekend on the prairie.

My daughter joined me for a couple days of hunting while I’m out West, and we couldn’t have asked for a better time. Great dogs, beautiful country, plenty of birds, and most importantly, a chance to spend a couple days together doing something we both enjoy.

It doesn’t get much better than this.

Families have now made their selections, leaving this handsome male available to join his new home beginning July 10.

He has been raised in our home, received a clean bill of health from our veterinarian, is current on vaccinations and dewormings, has an AKC Reunite microchip, and a pre-paid registration with both AKC and NAVHDA.

We've put together photos, videos, pedigree information, and health clearances on our website if you'd like to learn more.

Six and a half weeks old and making the most of every chance to explore the yard.

One of our puppy families recently had a change in plans, so one reservation for a male pup just became available.

If you've been considering a puppy from this breeding, you'll find additional photos, videos, health clearances, and pedigree information on our website:

A little behind the scenes from the B litter.

This week we took stacked photos of each puppy to document how they're developing. It's always fun to watch their individual personalities and unique markings continue to emerge as they grow.

Just two more weeks until these pups head home with their new families!

Heidi is 1 year and 1 month old from our A litter, out of Glen Allen’s Ridge UT-I and Sundance Köhler Illumination MH UT-II. She has already earned a Prize III in her NAVHDA Natural Ability test and is currently preparing for her NAVHDA Gun Dog test, as well as the UKC/HRC Started test.

With retrieves like this, I think she’s well on her way. It’s always rewarding to watch these young dogs continue to mature and develop with dedicated owners putting in the time and effort.

Nice work, Carlos Acosta and Heidi!

Got some good news today!

Chris Baughman tested Vanguard Augustus ("Gus") at the Hawkeye Chapter NAVHDA Natural Ability Test and earned the highest possible score—a Prize I with 112 points!

I am incredibly grateful to Chris for the time, effort, and dedication he has invested in Gus's training and development. It is rewarding to see that hard work recognized on test day.

I would also like to thank Fred Rice of Sundance German Shorthaired Pointers. Last year Fred referred Chris to me when he was looking for a puppy from our A-litter. Since then, Fred has generously welcomed Chris to his property to train with the famous Sundance pigeons and helped lay the foundation for success on the pheasant track.

Congratulations to Chris and Gus on an outstanding accomplishment. We are proud to see another Vanguard-bred dog earn a Prize I!
