🍂 First trial of fall 2026 is in the books! 🍂

Evan and Hannah traveled south to Hanley Farms in Georgia for a weekend of good dogs, good weather, and even better company. The teamwork was top notch, the dogs showed up ready to work, and the Hanley hospitality was second to none.

Happy Labor Day from Twin Oaks Kennels 🇺🇸

Dove season is here, the dogs are ready, and we’re mighty thankful for another September spent in the field. Willer being the most thankful birds are flying again!

Good dogs. Good shooting. Good Lord above.

Two new SHR titles coming home to Twin Oaks. 🔥

This weekend at the Tri State HRC Hunt Test, SHR Twin Oaks Two Shot Tommy “Rooster” and SHR Running J’s Biggest Pimp “Pimp” passed both land and water Saturday and Sunday, earning their Started Hunting Retriever titles.

And we couldn’t be more proud of these two dogs.

The conditions were flat-out tough. Over 100 degrees. Dry ground. No wind. No shade. The kind of heat that’ll take the starch out of one in a hurry.

That’s the kind of dog we want standing beside us — one with grit, heart, drive, and enough want-to to keep working when conditions aren’t doing them any favors.

It was also a dang good weekend getting to share it with Britt Formby and watching her pick up passes both days with two great dogs of her own. There’s nothing better than good dogs, good people, and watching hard work pay off.

And having Levi right there beside me made the whole thing even sweeter. Those are the weekends and memories we will hang onto.

Rooster and Pimp, thank you for making dreams come true and for giving me everything you’ve got every time I ask.

But we’re not stopping here.

Seasoned titles are next on the list. And after watching these two work, we have no doubt they’ll flat-out kill it.

Started titles earned.

Now we go chase bigger dreams.

🐾 Happy International Dog Day from Twin Oaks Kennels! 🐾

What better way to celebrate than introducing y’all to one of our own — Newt! 🤎

Also known as Newton, Isaac Newton, Sir Isaac… depending on the day and how fancy we’re feeling. 🤪

Y’all might not recognize this handsome boy, but rewind about a year and Newt was just one of five little pups sired by Cowboy’s Nunnery and out of our very own Cadillac Cole’s Slick Lil Liz.

Fast forward to now, and that puppy is growing into a BIRD DOG. 🔥

Newt is currently at bird dog bootcamp with the great Hardy Jaggers, and we have been absolutely loving the promise he’s showing. Watching the genetics we believed in from the beginning come together with excellent training is one of the most rewarding parts of raising these dogs.

Good genetics + excellent training = RESULTS. 👏🏼

We’re mighty excited about this young dog and can’t wait to see what Sir Isaac has in store for the future.

🏆✨ THE START OF SOMETHING BIG ✨🏆

What a weekend for Twin Oaks Kennels! 🐾🦆

We took three of our English Cockers to their very first HRC hunt test, and these little dogs showed us EXACTLY what we needed to see. 🔥

All three earned TWO passes in the Started class! 🏆🏆🏆

Two down, two to go toward their SHR — Started Hunting Retriever titles!

But honestly, the ribbons and passes are only part of what made this weekend so special. What thrilled us most was watching these three cockers find their game.

The dog work they showed this weekend—in the field, in the water, and in those moments where everything just clicked—was exactly what we needed to see as we begin working toward future HRC/UKC titles. There is nothing quite like putting in the work at home, trusting the process, and then watching it all come together when you get to the line. 🥹

These dogs have worked hard. We’ve worked hard. And this weekend gave us a BIG glimpse of what they’re capable of.

The journey is just getting started. 🚀🐾

My biggest supporter can’t go unnoticed!! My coach. My biggest encourager. My sounding board. And, perhaps most importantly, my master chef who spent the entire weekend making sure I had safe, gluten-free, warm meals packed and ready to go. 😂❤️ THANK YOU Evan!

And a very special thank you to Scott and Abby Young, June’s owners, for allowing us the opportunity to bring this sweet girl along to play the game!

Here’s to the long days training at home, the muddy feet, the water, the endless bumpers, the moments of frustration, the breakthroughs, and now… seeing all that hard work pay off in the field and water. 🦆🌊🐕

🏆2026 Twin Oaks Kennels UFTA Field Trial🏆

What a weekend!!!

From start to finish, this trial was packed with some of the most impressive dog work we’ve seen. Dogs digging deep, handlers stepping up, and teams showing true grit — all while battling that dry, unforgiving heat. The conditions were tough, but the performances were even tougher.

Saturday night’s shootout and fish fry was something special — great shooting, great food, and even better company. Moments like that are what make these weekends unforgettable.

Most of all — thank you to every single person who came, competed, helped, or just hung out. This trial was more than we could have ever hoped for. The support, the sportsmanship, the laughs… it all came together in a way that makes us incredibly grateful.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend!

Y’all better believe we’re already planning the next one. 😉🐾

🔥🌞 It’s about to get HOT at Twin Oaks this weekend! 🌞🔥

We’re gearing up for our UFTA Trial March 21–22, and let’s just say… Mother Nature is turning up the heat a little early for us 😅 So come prepared to beat the heat and enjoy a great weekend of dog work!

Make sure you bring:
☀️ Canopies for shade
🪑 Chairs to stay comfortable
💧 Plenty of water (for you AND your dogs!)
🚙 Side-by-sides are welcome

Below you will find running orders for both days!

Good news — food will be on site, so you won’t go hungry while cheering everyone on!

We’ve got a BIG day lined up Saturday with 40 dogs to run, so we’ll be kicking things off with a morning meeting at daylight to keep everything rolling smoothly and get through all the runs.

It’s shaping up to be a great weekend — see yall there!
