🏆2026 Twin Oaks Kennels UFTA Field Trial🏆

What a weekend!!!

From start to finish, this trial was packed with some of the most impressive dog work we’ve seen. Dogs digging deep, handlers stepping up, and teams showing true grit — all while battling that dry, unforgiving heat. The conditions were tough, but the performances were even tougher.

🏆 Open Champions
1. Shay Wilson & Pepper
2. Jason Hanley & Cowboy
3. Hardy Jaggers & Rip

🏆 Amateur Field A Champions
1. Paul Vaughn & Molly
2. Loren Troutt & Trixie
3. Hardy Jaggers & Sid

🏆 Amateur Field B Champions
1. Craig Carby & Layla
2. Trent Pike & Coal
3. Hardy Jaggers & Katie

None of this happens without the incredible people behind the scenes:

A huge thank you to Scott Young with Whispering Pines Farm for putting up prize money for the Open and covering bird planting — your support means everything.
Abby Young for keeping everyone fed and taken care of.
David Pike and Larry Nicol for judging and giving their time to ensure a fair trial.
Eric Stuard for bringing the fish and cooking up an absolute feast for everyone. And Melody Alley and Granny for those amazing hush puppies.
Savannah for helping keep concessions running smoothly.
Loren Troutt and Trent Pike for jumping in and helping Evan with catching birds and whatever else was needed.

And a major, major thank you to Chris Stafford with Double S Game Birds — the birds were top notch and made for outstanding runs all weekend.

Saturday night’s shootout and fish fry was something special — great shooting, great food, and even better company. Moments like that are what make these weekends unforgettable.

Most of all — thank you to every single person who came, competed, helped, or just hung out. This trial was more than we could have ever hoped for. The support, the sportsmanship, the laughs… it all came together in a way that makes us incredibly grateful.

We truly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend!

Y’all better believe we’re already planning the next one. 😉🐾

🇺🇸🐾 2026 UFTA Nationals 🐾🇺🇸

What a week. What a proving ground.

Nationals isn’t just another trial. It’s long days, heavy pressure, and no room for excuses. It’s the place that exposes what you’ve built — or what you haven’t. And this year, Twin Oaks walked onto that stage ready.

Evan and Birdie finished 7th Overall in Amateur Flushing — Top 10 at their first Nationals appearance.
Evan and Willer fought their way back to the Open Flushing Finals, finishing as Open Finalists after some tough luck in that last round.

That’s not luck. That’s miles. That’s repetition. That’s a handler who stays steady when the pressure turns up. First year on that stage and coming home with a Top 10 and an Open Finalist finish — that speaks.

On the pointing side, Hannah and Liz placed 3rd in Women’s Pointing, their first time competing together as a team. No history. No long resume together. Just trust, preparation, and grit — and the chemistry is real.
Rooster finished 6th in Women’s Pointing, laying down honest work in tough company.

And then there’s Levi.

Levi stepped into the Youth Division running both the pointers and the flushers. He didn’t come home with a placement — but you would’ve never known it by the look on his face. He smiled the whole time. He handled those dogs like a seasoned veteran — steady, confident, composed. Watching him walk to the line, whistle in hand, carrying himself with quiet determination… that’s the kind of moment that matters more than ribbons.

We’re proud of the placements — but more than that, we’re proud of how our dogs carried themselves. Composed. Gritty. Competitive. They didn’t back down. Neither did we.

The early mornings. The training days when no one is watching. The travel. The doubt. The faith it takes to keep going when progress feels slow. Nationals has a way of reminding you that none of that is wasted.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

This week felt like a glimpse of harvest — not the end goal, just proof that the work is taking root.

Huge thank you to RoundStone Seed for hosting and to the UFTA board for putting on a strong Nationals.

We’re heading home grateful.
We’re heading home sharper.
And we’re heading home hungry.

Twin Oaks Kennels is just getting started. 🐾🤘🏻

Rooster showed up. 🔥🐾

Two solid runs in the Open Pointing landed him 5th out of 34 dogs — just the tune-up we wanted heading into Nationals.

Huge thanks to Evan and Denver Rose for carrying the team this weekend while HayHay and the boys were off chasing ducks and basketball games. 😅💪🏼

Next stop, Nationals! 👏🏻

❗️❄️Weather Update from Twin Oaks Kennels❄️❗️

Mother Nature has decided to slow us down a bit! Due to weather and road conditions, we’re postponing the UFTA trial scheduled for this upcoming weekend.

Good news — The trial has been rescheduled to March 21–22!

While we hate to move dates, the safety of our participants, friends, and especially our dogs always comes first. We’re sending warm wishes and hoping everyone is staying safe during this ice and snow. Give those dogs an extra pat for us and stay warm—we’ll see you in March! ❄️🐾

Cold temps, salty dogs, and a tough race at the 2026 UFTA Roundtop Money Trial 💰❄️

Twin Oaks Kennels was proud to compete against some of the best in the game. Evan and Liz laid down two FAST runs, finishing 12th out of 62 dogs in a stacked field. Hannah and Rooster turned tough luck from day one into a solid six-minute run on day two, showing heart and progress when it counted.

Paying dues is never fun—but it’s part of the process. One run at a time, these dogs keep getting better, and we’re proud of the grit they showed all weekend. We couldn’t be more fired up for the dog power we load onto our trailer, and the handlers that show the same love and determination as the dogs.

This trial marked one year that we’ve been competing in trials and UFTA, and we are thrilled with the progress we’ve made!

Onward. 💪🏻🐾

PS our picture taking abilities lacked this weekend, please enjoy some randome birddog snapshots. 🫶🏼

⚡️Twin Oaks Kennels⚡️bringing home the wins at the Mustard Seed Gun Dog UFTA Pointing & Flushing Trial! 🏆

This weekends bitter temps tested our dedication and drive to run our dogs, 🤪❄️ however these wins make the cold more worth it!

🧨Saturday – Flushing🧨
• Birdie came out firing, winning 1st place in BOTH Amateur Flushing events and finishing strong with 3rd place in the Open Flushing
• Willer put together solid, consistent runs, earning 2nd and 3rd place in the Amateur Flushing trials

🔥Sunday – Pointing🔥
• Cam & Evan proved their chemistry in the field, taking 1st place in the Amateur Pointing
• Rooster & Hannah powered through the cold to earn 3rd place in the Amateur Pointing

Hannah and Rooster are showing great teamwork and chemistry in the field. This weekend being their first runs together and they handled it like pros. Each run proved they’re starting to click, and this team is only getting better from here.

Proud of these dogs for their drive, toughness, and heart—and thankful for the handlers who never backed down despite the brutal conditions. Cold temps, frozen ground, and long days… but these teams showed up and got it done.

On to the next one 🤙🏻🐾
