I mentioned at the last workshop that I keep blackworms in outdoor container ponds. While collecting aquatic carnivorous plants for an auction, I found blackworms with them. The plants, which lose their carnivorous traps in winter, allowed the worms to survive. These plants can eat blackworms if the traps are large enough.

Despite an extremely cold winter last year, the container froze solid. The plants have been in the container for 3-4 years, freezing and regrowing in spring. The leaves cover the container, decomposing and generating heat to prevent the worms from freezing. This creates an ideal natural environment for blackworms.

🪱 What an incredible workshop at Bucks County Aquarium Society yesterday! It was great seeing so many familiar faces at one of my absolute favorite clubs to visit!
