Please buy one of our tote bags for just £23, including postage and packaging 💜

Every purchase helps us rescue more cats in need — covering vet treatment, food, neutering and emergency care for stray cats living on the streets of Istanbul.

By buying a tote bag, you’re not just getting a bag — you’re helping save lives and giving vulnerable cats like June here a second chance.

Thank you for supporting Help a Stray Cat 🐾

✨Meet Alfie✨

This gorgeous boy was always in and out of the vets while living on the streets. First he needed his rotten teeth extracted, then he injured his paw pad, followed by gastrointestinal issues and finally eczema. No matter how much he loved roaming the streets, it became clear that life outside was simply too tough for him.

So, it was time to take him in for good.
Luckily, this handsome boy has already found a home! He’ll soon be joining our Simba, who is already living his best life in the UK. We can’t wait to see Alfie finally get the happy and safe life he deserves.

Tomorrow he’s due to have his Titer test done, which is one of the final steps before he can travel. Please consider making a donation towards his veterinary costs. He cannot leave the country without it🙏🏻

This girl lives outside our office and she’s always had discharge coming from her right eye. But over the past few days, she started looking really dirty. Cats usually stop grooming themselves when they’re unwell, so we knew straight away that something wasn’t right.

We took her to the vets and it turns out she has blood parasites. Sadly, this is the reality for so many street cats here. They’re constantly exposed to disease, hunger, injuries and harsh weather conditions. Most of them are simply surviving, not living.

Please don’t romanticise the lives of stray cats. No animal deserves to struggle like this every single day. Would you want 8–10 million stray animals trying to survive on the streets in the UK? We certainly wouldn’t❤️‍🩹

✨Monty✨

A neighbour found this handsome boy back in September 2025. He had a broken back leg, rotten teeth and he wasn’t neutered. By the time he recovered and had a second surgery for his teeth, winter had arrived.

His rescuer couldn’t bear the thought of putting him back on the streets, so he tried to find him a home — but sadly, he had no luck. An ordinary street cat like Monty has very little chance of being adopted here.

As the months passed, it became even harder to imagine returning this friendly boy to the streets. It broke our hearts seeing him desperately trying to escape his cage.

Last month, we asked our vet if he could roam freely around the clinic and at first they agreed, hoping he could become the clinic cat. But in the end it became too difficult to supervise him safely, so he was confined to a cage again.

When our neighbour asked if we could take him into our care, we said yes. We couldn’t keep watching him spend his days locked away any longer.

This week he’ll be microchipped and moved to the cattery while he waits for a family of his own. Please consider opening your home to this very special boy💜

✨ Adopt Alvin ✨

Alvin came into our care after struggling on the streets with severe eczema and eosinophilic granuloma, leaving him covered in painful scabs. Life outside had clearly taken its toll on him.

Once we brought him into the office, we noticed something else wasn’t right—his breathing became loud and raspy. An MRI confirmed narrowing in his nasal passages, likely triggered by his allergies.

Alvin needs a calm, low-dust and allergen-free home to truly thrive. With 15 cats in our office, it’s impossible to control the environment enough for him—things like litter dust only make his condition worse.

Despite everything, Alvin is a gentle, loving boy who just needs the right space to feel comfortable and breathe easily.

He can travel to the UK from 19 May.

If you can offer Alvin the peaceful home he deserves, please consider adopting him💜
