Congratulations to Roi* for completing our Basic Manners Program! 🎓

Roti has done an amazing job throughout her training journey! From mastering her basic cues and engagement (at least indoors), she has made wonderful progress every step of the way. 🌟🐶

A very special thank you to Roti's guardian for your dedication, consistency, and commitment to practising between lessons. 💕

Training success isn't just about what happens during our sessions—it's the time, patience, and effort put in at home that truly makes the difference.

At HopeforDogs, we believe that training is a partnership. When guardians are committed to learning alongside their dogs, wonderful things happen. 🐾

Well done, Roti! We are so proud of you and wish you many more happy adventures ahead. Keep up the fantastic work! 🎊✨

Congratulations to our latest Kinder Puppy Program graduates — Dou Dou, Truffle, and Seyo! 🎓💛

These adorable pups have successfully completed their puppy training journey, and we couldn't be prouder of them and their dedicated families. 🌟🐶

While potty training is certainly an important part of raising a puppy, it's only one piece of the puzzle.

Puppy Program is also about helping guardians understand the importance of positive and quality exposure during a puppy's critical developmental period. The experiences puppies have during these early months can have a lasting impact on how they view the world for the rest of their lives.

Through careful guidance, we help puppies build confidence, resilience, and positive associations with everyday sights, sounds, people, and environments.

Big congratulations to Milo the Cavapoo for graduating from our Kinder Puppy Program! 🎓💛

This little fluffball has been an absolute joy—building confidence, learning life skills, and showing us that even the tiniest pups can make BIG progress! 🌟🐶

One of Milo’s highlights? Crate training done right! 🏡✨

Not as a “time-out”, but as a safe, cosy den where he can truly relax and recharge.
When introduced positively, crate training can:

🛏️ Create a calm, secure space for rest
🚗 Make travel and vet visits less stressful when a crate is needed

Milo has learned that his crate = comfort, safety, and good things 💛 And that’s exactly what we love to see!

Well done, Milo—you’re off to an amazing start! 🐾🎊

The importance of gut health.

The importance of gut health.

Dogs with gut problems may struggle with more than digestion.💩 A new peer reviewed study in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association found dogs with chronic digestive disease (chronic enteropathy) showed significantly more stress, anxiety, and emotional reactivity than healthy dogs. They were also almost twice as likely to show distress when their owners prepared to leave the house.

Even dogs with mild digestive symptoms showed signs of emotional strain, supporting what scientists call the gut brain axis, the close connection between the digestive system and the brain.

Researchers suggest treatment should support the whole dog, including:
• gut health and inflammation
• microbiome balance (diet, prebiotics, probiotics, microbiome therapies)
• stress and emotional wellbeing

Supporting emotional health may also help improve digestive health.

Certain probiotic strains studied in dogs may help support both the gut and nervous system, including Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LP815 (a GABA producing strain linked to calming effects), Optibiome® BS50 Bacillus subtilis (shown to improve stool quality and digestion), and Lactobacillus fermentum K9-2 (supports gut barrier health and helps reduce inflammation).

These strains are included in PRIMITIVE PROBIOTICS™, developed by Dr. Karen Becker, the most followed veterinarian in the world, to help rebuild and support the canine microbiome.

🌿 Sniff More, Stress Less 🐶💛

Sniffing isn’t just a fun activity for dogs—it’s how they make sense of the world around them. When we allow dogs to slow down and engage their nose, we’re giving them the opportunity to relax, decompress, and think positively. 🧠✨

Through simple sniffing activities like scatter feeding, snuffle mats, or scent games, dogs can:
🐾 Lower stress levels
🌱 Release built-up tension
🧘‍♂️ Enter a calmer emotional state

Sniffing taps into natural behaviours that promote relaxation and emotional balance

Sometimes, the best training is letting them pause… and sniff. 💚

Cigar’s guardian’s goal is to safely integrate the cat into the household, so that both the cat and dog can coexist without Cigar chasing. This requires a high level of ongoing supervision and management, including the use of physical barriers and providing vertical escape routes and
elevated resting areas for the cat.

We then focus on relaxation exercises, teaching Cigar to remain calm and settle when the cat is present.

This process will always be a work in progress, but we are encouraged by the positive progress made so far.

Sniff. Search. Satisfy 🐽✨
A snuffle mat turns mealtime into a calming brain workout—slowing things down, encouraging natural foraging, and helping busy (or anxious) dogs settle.
Let them use their nose. It’s what it’s made for .
