Dear community,

Last night, a cat who appears to be someone’s pet was brought to us by Pest Control after being found near the Racquet Club. He was taken directly to Al Hamra Veterinary Center for treatment.

Unfortunately, he is not microchipped, so we have been unable to identify his owner. He also has a severely damaged eye which cannot be saved and will need to be surgically removed. The surgery is expected to cost approximately 700 SAR.

We are currently already in a negative balance at Al Hamra due to the ongoing treatment of community cats. The team there are incredibly supportive and would never allow a sick or injured cat to go untreated because we cannot immediately cover the cost, but we also need to make sure we can continue paying them for their time, equipment, medication and care.

If anyone would like to contribute towards this cat’s surgery, or towards the veterinary care we provide for KAUST’s community cats more generally, please send us a private message for ways to purchase Al Hamra vouchers. Even a small contribution genuinely helps.

And most importantly, if this is your cat, or you recognise him and know who his owner may be, please contact us as soon as possible.

Thank you, as always, for helping us look after the animals in our community. 🐾❤️

Happy International Cat Day! 🐱🧡

Today, we’re celebrating all the little personalities that make our KAUST community and cattery so special: the cuddly ones, the chaotic ones, the sleepy ones, and everything in between 🐾

Behind every happy face there is food, shelter, veterinary care, and a whole lot of love.

If you’d like to celebrate International Cat Day with us, consider purchasing a voucher towards their medical care, and help us continue caring for our cats while they wait for their forever homes ❤️

🐾 Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!

Every cat in our care has a story, but they all have one thing in common — they rely on people who choose to help.
Right now, we urgently need more volunteers to join our team. Whether you can spare one shift a week or just a little of your time, it truly makes a difference.
No special experience is needed — just kindness and a love for cats. 🧡

If you've been thinking about getting involved, this is the perfect time.

Oscar deserves more than a few minutes of happiness each day
For the past six months, Oscar has been struggling with persistent illness. She is FIV and feline coronavirus positive, she barely eats, and her quality of life has declined considerably.
At the moment, this brief dailv cuddle is one of the only thinas she still looks forward to.
Oscar now needs specialist veterinary treatment to give her a real chance of feeling comfortable again, to eat, rest, seek affection and experience more good days than bad ones.
We are looking for a compassionate person, family or organisation willing to sponsor Oscar's treatment. To discuss sponsoring Oscar's veterinary care, please contact us privately
Even when you cannot sponsor her treatment, you can stil help Oscar by sharing this video. Her sponsor mav already be somewhere in your community,we simply need her story to reach them.
Oscar cannot ask for help herself, so we are asking for her
