🇺🇸 A wonderful week of Dressage, friendship and shared knowledge 🇵🇹

A truly enjoyable week in the US, filled with horses, training, great conversations and the opportunity to reconnect with friends and fellow professionals who share the same passion for Dressage.

A very special thank you to the US Lusitano Association and to for the warm welcome and for bringing together such a wonderful group of people around the Lusitano horse and Dressage.

It was also a real pleasure to have the opportunity to see, from close by, the work being developed by the WATASH team, their horses and riders, and to exchange ideas and experiences throughout the week.

Thank you as well to Haras Dos Cavaleiros for welcoming us into such a beautiful and friendly environment — the perfect setting for learning, sharing and enjoying the horses with very talented riders.
It was a pleasure to catch up with Dulce Diaz Borjas and Cheryl D Person with their horses.

And, of course, a very special thank you to Donna Russo for another fantastic time. After almost 10 years of following Donna, her horses and her team, it is always incredibly rewarding to return, see their continued progress and be part of that journey.

These are the weeks that remind us how valuable it is to share knowledge, experience and, above all, a genuine passion for the horse.

Thank you to everyone who made it so special. Until next time! 🇺🇸🤍🇵🇹

🇵🇹 A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TO REMEMBER

The 2026 Working Equitation World Championship in Jerez de la Frontera was an exceptional moment for Portuguese equestrian sport — and one that we are especially proud to have shared from within the team.

Portugal delivered a remarkable performance, securing the Team World Championship title and the Individual World Championship title, with Gilberto Filipe & Morante once again reaching the highest step of the podium.

For Ralão Dressage, this Championship had a very special significance.

Our founder and head trainer, Miguel Ralão Duarte, joined the Portuguese coaching team with responsibility for the Dressage preparation, working alongside Pedro Torres and Luís Brito Pais, and with Nuno Baptista as Team Leader.

Preparing for a World Championship is never about one single test or one single day. It is the result of consistent work, attention to detail, correct training, confidence between horse and rider, and the ability to perform under pressure when it matters most.

These are values that are deeply connected to the philosophy of Ralão Dressage and made this experience particularly meaningful for us.

Our congratulations go to the four Portuguese combinations:

picada Conceição & Istambul Gilberto Filipe & Morante
Nicole Silva & Inca
Nicolau & Osíris

and to everyone who contributed to the preparation, care and success of the team.

A very special mention to , groom, and Dr. Bruno Miranda, veterinarian, for their dedication and constant support throughout the Championship. High-performance sport is also built on the work that happens away from the arena.

Seeing Portugal succeed at this level, with the Lusitano horse once again demonstrating its quality, versatility and competitive strength on the international stage, makes this achievement even more special.

We also extend our congratulations and recognition to APSL – APSL Cavalo Lusitano Associação Portuguesa de Criadores do Cavalo Puro Sangue Lusitano, whose role in supporting and developing Working Equitation in Portugal is an important part of the continued international success of the discipline.

Proud of the team.
Proud of the horses.
Proud of Portugal. 🇵🇹🏆

Today, 26 July 2026, we celebrate the 54th anniversary of the inauguration of Grandfather Ralão’s Riding School in Lumiar — a very special place in our family’s equestrian history.

In 1972, Miguel was only six years old. It was there that his passion for horses first began and where the foundations of his lifelong equestrian journey were laid.

Curiously, Miguel started competing in show jumping. However, it was not long before he returned to dressage — the discipline that became his true passion and shaped his entire professional life.

Since then, he has built an extensive career, training many horses from their early years through to Grand Prix level, and guiding numerous riders and students, both in Portugal and abroad.

More than five decades later, that legacy remains alive through the horses, the riders, the knowledge passed on and the same passion that first began in Lumiar.

A meaningful date to celebrate and remember where it all started. 🐴

🕊️ Dressage world mourns the loss of one of its great references.

With deep sadness, we pay tribute to Stephen Clarke, an exceptional FEI Judge General, an iconic figure in international dressage, and above all, a man of remarkable sensitivity, wisdom and humanity.

Stephen inspired generations of riders, trainers, judges and dressage enthusiasts around the world. His way of observing the horse, interpreting harmony, correctness, lightness and true partnership left a mark that went far beyond the arena.

Miguel Ralão was privileged to share professional moments with Stephen, including the program “Training the Teachers of Tomorrow” seminar, dedicated to training, judging, dialogue and the principles of true dressage.

He also had the honour of benefiting from Stephen’s wisdom, exceptional technical eye and profound knowledge of dressage — insights that resonated deeply throughout Miguel’s journey as an international rider.

Beyond his extraordinary expertise, Stephen will also be remembered as a wonderful storyteller, with a great sense of humour and a rare ability to bring warmth, clarity and humanity to every moment.

Stephen’s passing leaves an immense void in the international equestrian community. Yet his legacy will continue to live on through all those who had the privilege of learning from him, listening to him and being inspired by his vision of dressage.

On behalf of Miguel Ralão and Ralão Dressage, we extend our heartfelt tribute and deepest gratitude.

Thank you, Stephen. Your legacy will continue to inspire us. 🕊️

Rest in Peace ✨🙏🕊️

This weekend, TS Dressage Horses welcomes Miguel Ralão for a training clinic centered on the ongoing development of the program in place.

Working alongside rider Carlos Botero, the focus remains on consistency, correct basics, and the gradual progression that defines long-term results in dressage.

A quiet continuation of the work behind the scenes.
