🏇 Ever wondered what endurance riding is all about?

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know endurance has taken me on some incredible adventures, from local rides here in the UK to competing internationally. It’s a sport that truly has something for everyone, whatever your age, experience or ambitions.

That’s why I’d really encourage any Pony Club members, parents or supporters to join this FREE webinar and find out more about the sport.

One of my favourite things this year has been watching my niece, Marnie, and her pony Pebbles start their own endurance journey. Seeing their confidence grow and their partnership develop reminds me exactly why I love this sport so much. You don’t need expensive facilities or a specialist horse – just a love of riding and a sense of adventure. And the long kilometres and training preparation really keeps our little grass guzzlers fit!

If you’ve ever thought about giving endurance a go, this is the perfect opportunity to learn more and ask all those questions you’ve been wondering about.

Diabetes Week 2026 💙

“Can you eat that?”
Yes, I can!

As someone living with Type 1 diabetes, I can eat the same foods as anyone else. The difference is that my pancreas no longer produces insulin – the hormone that helps move glucose from food into the body’s cells to be used for energy.

Because my pancreas doesn’t do that job anymore, I have to replace that insulin myself through injections. Every meal, snack and drink requires a decision, a calculation or a quick check of my glucose levels.

Thankfully, technology makes that easier. I use a Libre 2 continuous glucose monitor (CGM), which sends my glucose readings directly to my phone in real time. My crew can also monitor my levels remotely when I’m training or competing.

That means if my glucose is starting to drop, I usually get around 15 minutes’ warning and can grab a snack before it becomes a problem. If my levels are rising, my alarms alert me so I can take insulin and bring them back into range.

It’s one of the reasons why this year’s Diabetes Week theme, , is so important. Diabetes is often misunderstood, and many people living with it face assumptions and judgement every day.

A little understanding goes a long way.

What question about diabetes have you always wanted to ask?

Woke up on day 2 of National Volunteers’ Week to Sophie and Alfie’s post about es**rting junior para riders 🥰🫶🏽💪🏽

Of all my volunteering roles, this is by far my favourite - junior para es**rt for my best friend and future race partner, Alfie. ❤️

Sophie captured it perfectly in her poster, highlighting just how important es**rts and chaperones are for young riders coming through our sport. We aren’t just there to lead ponies around; we’re there to build confidence, provide support, encourage independence and help create positive experiences that keep young riders loving endurance.

It’s a role that Domino absolutely loved too. He took his responsibilities very seriously and taught so many young riders the ropes. Now Isar is excelling in the role, although I suspect the power may have gone slightly to her head... 🤣

One of the best parts is seeing the next generation start their endurance journey. Watching Marnie and Pebbles discover the sport together, and being able to share those experiences thanks to Endurance GB and the fantastic 5km rides, is incredibly special.

Volunteers are the backbone of our sport, and I’m very grateful to play a small part in helping young riders develop their confidence, skills and love for endurance riding. 🐴💙

It’s sunny, it’s the weekend and it’s so empty without you 🥺💔

Domino should be here soaking up the sunshine, ears pricked, ready for another adventure, another training ride, another day of making memories. It’s strange how one horse can leave such a huge silence behind. He wasn’t just part of the team, he was part of me. I miss him so much. 💔
