A study published in Frontiers in Veterinary Science found that 86.7% of veterinarians scored in the moderate or high burnout range. A separate review from the same journal found that by 2021, only 41% of vets would recommend their profession to someone else. In 2005 that number was 75%.
This is not a workforce crisis. It is a systems crisis.
Vets spend multiple unpaid hours daily on record keeping alone — documented across multiple practice surveys. They answer calls at 3 AM with no patient file in front of them. No prior medication history. No allergy record. No previous diagnosis notes. Just their training, their exhaustion, and their commitment to the animal on the other end of the line.
In Pakistan this burden compounds further. No digital records infrastructure. No cross-clinic patient history. No administrative support systems that exist in more developed veterinary markets.
The vet who answered that call last night did so without the tools they deserved to have.
This is the gap Rabbitt exists to close. Not to replace the vet. To give them what they should have had from the beginning.
To every vet in Karachi who has answered at 3 AM — this is why we're building what we're building.

Late nights at the clinic extend beyond nine o'clock, yet your unwavering dedication remains evident. This commitment is not merely a requirement; it reflects your profound compassion for families, providing them with the invaluable gift of a dignified farewell. You diligently monitored last night's critical case prior to today's appointments and willingly sacrificed your lunch for a pet owner in need. This exemplifies the often-overlooked efforts within veterinary medicine, the hours that go unrecognized and the emotional burden of delivering difficult news with empathy. Research indicates that veterinarians experience higher burnout rates compared to their human medical counterparts, with administrative tasks significantly contributing to this issue. In Pakistan, veterinarians allocate approximately 60% of their day to paperwork, grappling with redundant entries and inefficient systems. This is where Rabbitt comes into plan, not to supplant your vital work, but to recover the hours lost to administrative duties, allowing you to concentrate on what truly matters. To every veterinarian in Pakistan who remains late and shoulders unseen responsibilities: Your invisible labor forms the cornerstone of trust for families. We acknowledge your efforts, and we are committed to supporting you. 🐾📋💪

Keep inspiring, keep leading, and let us help lighten the load..

Your bird's screams aren't just noise; they're a distress call we've misunderstood for too long. 🦜 Birds are not mere decor; they're intelligent beings, akin to a 4 to 6-year-old child. Yet, in Pakistan, many pet birds endure tiny cages, poor diets, and isolation. Their cries are alarm calls, a response to what feels like a life-threatening situation. Silence from their owners feels like abandonment. This isn't a behavior problem; it's a welfare crisis in Karachi's homes.

Standard bird cages, about 60 × 40 × 60 cm, are too small for flight. Medium parrots, with wingspans of 90-120 cm, can't fly in these spaces. Imagine a human confined to a space where standing upright is impossible. 🌍

Feeding birds an all-seed diet leads to organ failure. Seeds should be just 15-20% of their diet, but most Pakistani bird owners aren't aware. Feather plucking? It's not quirky, it's distress. Causes include lack of enrichment (43%), social isolation (31%), and dietary deficiencies (18%). These are preventable.

In Pakistan, fewer than 5% of vet clinics can properly care for birds. This lack of knowledge, inadequate housing, poor nutrition, and limited vet access leads to preventable suffering. Rabbitt is striving to change this, not just for cats and dogs, but for all animals. 🐾 Let's start the conversation and make a difference. ❤️

What is Rabbitt?

Rabbitt is Pakistan's first veterinary technology platform. We are replacing paper-based record systems in 5,000+ veterinary clinics with cloud-based digital health records that save time, reduce costs, and improve patient outcomes.

THE PROBLEM:
Every veterinary clinic in Pakistan runs on paper. Sixty percent of vet time is wasted on paperwork. Pet owners cannot access their animals' medical records during emergencies. There is no cross-clinic data sharing. A Rs 2 billion industry operates with zero data security. Animals suffer from lost records and inaccessible treatment histories.

THE SOLUTION:
Digital health records accessible from any device, anywhere, anytime. Transparent, proportional pricing where small clinics pay less and large clinics pay more. Free tier for clinics with up to 50 active patients. No contracts. No hidden costs.

Karachi pilot launching Q2 2026 with 30 clinics. Beta access available now.

FOR VETS:
Reduce administrative burden. Access records instantly. Spend more time on medicine, less on paperwork.

FOR PET OWNERS:
Your animal's complete medical history, accessible when you need it most.

Join the pilot. Help build better veterinary care for Pakistan.

If you're a pet parent in Karachi, you already know.
You know which vet in DHA actually listens. Which clinic in Clifton has the shortest wait. Which pet store in Bahadurabad has the best food options. Which park in Defence is safe for your dog early morning.
You figured all of this out the hard way. Through trial and error. Through panic Googling at midnight. Through asking strangers in WhatsApp groups and hoping the advice was reliable.
No single pet parent in Karachi has all the answers. But together? We hold an enormous amount of collective wisdom. And that wisdom is scattered everywhere right now. In random Facebook groups. In DMs between friends. In conversations outside vet clinics on Khayaban-e-Ittehad.
It should be in one place.
Karachi's pet community is growing fast. Post-COVID, more families in Gulshan, Gulberg, DHA, and Clifton have brought dogs and cats into their homes. More people are rescuing strays. More people are asking real questions about real care.
But the infrastructure hasn't caught up. And neither has the community space.
That's what Rabbitt is building. A space where Karachi's pet parents can learn from each other, support each other, and raise the standard of pet care together.
You've navigated health crises with your pet. You've found vets who actually care. You've tested what works and what doesn't in this city.

That knowledge belongs to all of us.
We're building this for Karachi. Because Karachi's pets deserve better. And so do their people.

Your dog communicates distress through behavioral signals most owners miss. Research by Turid Rugaas identified calming signals—yawning unrelated to fatigue, lip licking without food present, deliberate head turning, slowed movement, and displaced play bows. These are not random behaviors. They are stress communication.

The University of Lincoln's Applied Animal Behaviour Studies documented physiological markers: dilated pupils, sweaty paw pads, elevated resting heart rate above 100 bpm, and panting absent heat or exertion. These autonomic responses cannot be faked. They represent genuine distress states.

The Journal of Veterinary Behavior found that chronic stress elevates cortisol, suppressing immune function and increasing disease susceptibility across organ systems. Early recognition of stress signals allows intervention before patterns become pathological or health consequences irreversible.

Understanding canine stress communication is not anthropomorphism. It is evidence-based behavioral science with direct clinical implications. Learn the signals. Prevent the damage.
