Kataba Endler 01 (F1) Class K

Bloodline:

Male: Thai Emperor (Class K)

Female: (Full Gold Fancy Female X Black Bar K Class)

After one year of figuring out Guppy and Endler color genetics, I figured out how to make combinations, Body Pattern and Color plus Fin colors.

Its one thing to read, another to execute.

These are another example of discarded off colored females being useful in the end.

Guppies are two Classes in the Philippines

Fancy and Feral.

Fancies are the ones with big tails, extended dorsals, and very bright and pastel patterns and colors.

Ferals (Or wild) is what we find in Canals and Creeks.

Regardless of what color/ breed, they are all Poecilia recticulata (The Pattern Live Bearer)

Now there are also Two Classes of Endlers in the Philippines, scientific name of P. wingei (There are 3 classes world wide only 2 are available in the market locally.)

Class N (Natural) which are the purest form. They can have papers or just good reputation, but either way, their bloodline has CLEAR Venezuelan origins. This type is no longer available, you can only call this as a Class N if the fish has clear history from Preservationist breeding, or wild caught. (These are backed up by Papers of Import Documents)

Class P (Presumed Pure) which means, they are anatomically matching the body of a Pure Endlers. However, the origin cannot be confirmed therefore they are "Presumed". (Only one strain is available in the Philippines, it is the Mindanao Black Bar.)

If you bought your Endlers from a reseller, it is Automatically a Class P.

You can only say something is a Class N if you bought it directly from known Pure Breeders like Señor Adrian HD Hernandez or Monsieur Philderodez EndlersLover .

(This is arguable of course but for a rule of thumb, if not direct from known breeders, they are Presumed Pure, therefor Class P.)

Endlers are NOT Guppies. They can hybridize yes and Produce Class K Endlers. But they are not the same, anatomically or color wise they are different.

Class K means (Kultivar) which dictates the strain is Manmade, a hybrid, these can be varying degrees. 50/50 or 30/70 or 80/20 so on and so forth. If it has guppy ancestor then its a Class K.

Pure Endlers are smaller, they are microfish, adults being a little over an inch. (1.2 to 1.4) unlike guppies that are Big, (2 inches to 5).

The have a torpedo head (the chest is not prominent).

Slimmer body, the peduncle is very narrow (Bewang ay makipot)

Tails are short and are only partially colored. NOT solid colors. Usually its a dual sword or a single.

Pure Endlers are hard to find, while Class K hybrids are easy to find.

I started this last January 2026, now its approaching it's final stage (f4 or f5) (Goal is Class P Endler body with Magenta colors and Markings.)

Patience is a virtue in this hobby.

Class P Black Bar Endlers with a Harem of Sisters and Class K's of varying hybrid degree.

Goal of my breeding program?

To generate Class K's with True Endler body shape and behavior but with Guppy colors.

This goal cannot be achieved in 1 generation.

Since my country (Philippines) has no confirmed Class N's, the only hope is through a Mindanao strain of Class P's that are allegedly descendants of Adrian Hernandez's imports way back 2012.

May be in the near future if Señor Hernandez can export to the Philippines again local hobbyists can work with healthier genes without guppy influence.

Or a good source also are Thai breeders who obsessively maintained pure P. wingei.

A breeding program must have a goal, we cannot raise all the colors we adore. We need to stream line like the tip of a Pencil to make our results defined.

I Cull a lot in my color breeding program. Mostly females that dont match my goals.

But sometimes I keep one or two, so as I dont waste genes.

These came from a Gold Guppy Female x Black Bar Male K Class pairing.

The offspring females were discareded mostly. Then their Sons collected.

Two females were left in my "Refuse" tank. Then allowed to mate with K class Males.

Heres the result.

The silvers I might name Fujin, the Gold Raijin.

FYI no Silverado/ El Dorado Genes were involved. Just Whatever is inside a Gold Guppy and Black Bar Endler K Class.
