The Philippines has had Feral Guppies (P. reticulata) since the 1940's, before the 2nd world war.
They were likely part of the world wide drive to control Mallaria and other mosquito borne diseases.
Guppies are observed as one of the fastest rate of mutations, and mutations become common due to isolation and bottle necking.
What I have observed is Feral P. reticulata is highly Poly Morphic, meaning each population is slightly different from the next.
This male is from my most recent collecting adventure at a Las Piñas City ditch.
I couldnt get a clear shot as I did not want to disturb this industrious male as he courts virgin Females.
He has a solid Red Back, and a lowerhalf that is silvery blue.
But what makes him particularly attractive is his Fins. They change colors according to his mood!
If hes stressed, his fins are clear, but when hes stimulated yet relaxed, they turn a laticed black (Like the pattern of a may fly wing) on his dorsal and caudal.
Plus there is a nice Eye spot near the top of the tail.
Hoping I can stablize this new color pattern.
I have no pure P. reticulata females, so instead I am breeding him to P. wingei females to make a K Class Strain.
