Located in Better Living Subdivision, Parañaque City, Peralta Veterinary Center is a well-established 180 sqm practice that has been delivering quality veterinary care for over three decades.
As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated VETERINARY TECHNICIAN to join us!

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
• Perform laboratory tests to help diagnose illnesses and monitor treatment effectiveness.
• Assist in diagnostic procedures, such as X-rays and ultrasounds.
• Prepare surgical suites, assist during surgical procedures, and monitor anesthesia to ensure the safety of animals undergoing surgery.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and medications.
• Educate pet owners to ensure the health and well-being of their pets.
• Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the veterinary facility.
• Aid veterinarians during examinations by restraining animals, preparing equipment, and collecting samples for analysis.
• Provide routine care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring their overall well-being.

REQUIREMENTS
• Graduate of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Technology, Medical Technology, Animal Science, or other related degrees
• Prior experience as a veterinary technician in a clinic or laboratory setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with surgical and dental instruments and equipment
• Ability to assist in handling and caring for patients
• Knowledgeable in performing X-rays and other diagnostic tests

As 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 draws to a close, we celebrate another successful year for 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫. Over the past 12 months, we've achieved significant milestones, wide range of notable cases, and investing in both learning and technology. We've highlighted them in this post as a way of looking back and being grateful.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝑼𝒓𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒑𝒚?

Urethroscopy in pets is a minimally invasive procedure where veterinarians use a small camera (endoscope) inserted through the urethra to directly visualize the urinary tract, including the urethra and bladder. It helps diagnose and sometimes treat urinary problems.

𝙁𝙪𝙣 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩: Recovery is quick: Because it's minimally invasive, most pets bounce back fast after urethroscopy, often going home the same day.

Fisiocan can be found in the small city of A Coruña, on the Galician coast of Spain. It is a companion animal physical therapy and rehabilitation center ran by Lucia and Monica, both specialists in this field. Dr. Stephanie and I travelled to this corner of the Earth to complete our externship with them as part of the requirements for becoming specialists like them.

In Fisiocan we found two passionate people with a big heart for animals. Rehab and Physical therapy requires a lot of patience and understanding. It is a labor of love. With every session, Lucia and Monica eases the pain felt by the dogs and cats under their care.

The pet parents of A Coruña are a dedicated bunch. Rain or shine (The region of Galicia is known for more rain than shine), you can expect them to be there for their pet's appointment. They are equally as responsible for the therapy's success. The relationship of Fisiocan and the community of A Coruña reminds me of our own practices. It's a relationship built on trust, friendship and a genuine love for animals.

Lucia and Monica have both been incredible. Despite the language barrier, they've been able to communicate and share their passion for companion animal physical therapy and rehabilitation with us. We felt welcome and at home from the moment we started our externship. We cannot thank them enough.

I am sure we will be back to visit Lucia and Monica in the not so distant future. Fingers-crossed, when we finally open our own pet rehab and therapy center, we'll be able to invite them to come over here in the Philippines so we can return the favor.
