The members of the Youth For Animals - University of Rizal System Morong Campus Highly opposed the act of cruelty towards animals.
We, as the organization concerning the animal welfare, we stand for love, care, responsibility and respect for every living being.
A kitten from Cabuyao, Laguna was seen at the circulating video being set to fire. Reportedly the kitten was doused with alcohol before being set to fire.
We believe this is not a simple mistake, nor it is a harmless prank, this is cruelty. Under the ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ญ (Republic Act No. 8485, as amended by Republic Act. No. 10631), any act of cruelty, neglect, or maltreatment against an animal is a criminal offense punishable by fines and imprisonment. Animal abuse is not only morally reprehensible, it is a clear violation of the law. Accountability must follow.
It is heartbreaking and disturbing to know that a cat was burned and treated with such cruelty. Animals cannot speak for themselves or tell us how much they are suffering, so we have a responsibility to stand up and protect them. No innocent animal deserves to experience pain, fear, or abuse, especially in such a cruel way.
Animal cruelty is never a joke, and those who hurt animals should be held accountable for their actions. We hope this serves as a reminder that every animal deserves kindness, protection, and a safe life.
No animal should suffer for the sake of entertainment, social media content, or gaining views and attention. We must remember that their lives and well-being are not meant to be used as content or sacrificed for temporary online popularity. No number of likes, views, or followers can justify cruelty toward innocent animals.

The Cabuyao Police have identified three individuals allegedly involved in the incident. With the help of animal welfare groups, the investigation and case build-up are ongoing, and appropriate complaints are expected to be filed against the suspects.
The three kittens have been rescued and are now under the care of an animal welfare organization after being turned over by the Cabuyao City Police.
