CALL FOR JUSTICE VS ANIMAL ABUSE GAINS SUPPORT

Joe Zaldarriaga, Meralco Corporate Communications Head and a known animal rights advocate, has called for stronger community action against animal abuse following the death of a community cat in Bonifacio Global City.

The call comes in light of the killing of “Ghost,” a well-known community cat in BGC, who died after being mauled by Siberian Huskies when their owner allegedly failed to control the dogs.

In a social media post, Zaldarriaga stressed that the fight against perpetrators of animal abuse is a “total community effort,” urging the public to stand together in protecting animals.

He also assured that those responsible will face justice, as more citizens continue to speak out and demand accountability.

A Person with Down Syndrome proudly created a shelter for stray animals using a recycled drum. The barrel-style shelter is divided into four cozy rooms, providing a safe and comfortable space for cats and dogs. Set up in a backyard surrounded by greenery, the shelter includes proper ventilation and insulation to protect the animals from heat and rain. Despite having Down syndrome, it did not stop them from showing creativity, compassion, and eco-friendly innovation, proving that anyone—regardless of challenges—can make a meaningful impact on their community.

Vogue magazine has filed a lawsuit against Dogue, the dog-centered fashion magazine which uses similar branding as the iconic vogue covers.

Condé Nast, Vogue’s parent company alleges that Dogue uses Vogue images without permission, infringes on their brand trademarks, and that the other publication is confusing to their costumers. Vogue also prints a yearly special dog edition entitled “Dogue.”

The Editor-In-Chief and creator of Dogue, Olga Portnaya, gave a statement saying she believes this lawsuit is part of a larger issues for independent artists and that she hopes to fight it on behalf of independent artists.
