📸 WHY STACKING PHOTOS MATTER
A simple guide for anyone new to show dogs + breed standards
If you’re new to Golden Retriever show lines, you might wonder:
💬 “What's the purpose of stacking?”
💬 “Ano ba tinitingnan dito?”
💬"How can I evaluate a puppy?
Here’s the easiest explanation for our Wouf Golden Retriever community!
🐕🦺 What is a Stack?
A stacking photo shows a dog in a balanced, proper pose so breeders, handlers, and judges can evaluate structure based on the official Golden Retriever breed standard.
It’s like posing an athlete to check form, or photographing a car to show design. You need to see the clear structure, honest, and informations about the puppies you're interested in bringing in your home.
🔍 Why Stacking Matters
Correct structure affects movement, health, temperament, and long-term soundness.
A stack helps you see:
✅ 1. Topline
Should be level and strong — no dips or exaggerated slopes.
✅ 2. Angulation
Shoulders & rear angles that affect how smooth and efficient the dog moves.
✅ 3. Headpiece
Breed-specific proportions: skull, stop, muzzle, ears, and expression.
✅ 4. Bone & Substance
Balanced — not too heavy, not too light.
✅ 5. Tail Set
A Golden trademark. Should come straight off the back.
✅ 6. Balance
Everything should look proportioned and harmonious.
Stacking photos aren’t for “aesthetics” —
They help us honor the purpose, structure, and beauty of the Golden Retriever breed. 🏆🐾💛
