This week, testing with 4 entries at SMC. National Banded, testing our 2025 lines. Sayang, walang perfect score...

Still ahead, decent 57%. Many will claim 75%-80% but is this across all your lines? Always best to get all the scores, regardless. We have a couple of pens at 100% actually, but some also with 20%. Need to make calls on individual lines, but your also have to look at overall performance. Read from your losses, not just the Ws.

As breeders, one of the more frustrating aspects of thia sport is the wastage of good fowl thru accidents in the range, on the cord, vermin attacks, etc.

Time and resource spent caring for fowl and you only notice the blemish when harvested...sayang

Second year of consolidation. They are becoming finer...many believe when you try to purify there is hybrid vigor loss, as well as some form of depression.

Maybe true, especially if what youre working with had low purity in the first place. But if you have patience, and thru selection and maintenance of multiple sublines you can actually improve and refine traits...Not all the time, but your chances do get better.

Most farms in the Philippines have some form of white fowl.

Ours are White Kelsos blended with a four-way Kelso line from the late Bugsky Ng Suy (BNS). So its a 5 way Kelso white. Some bullhens shown here just finishing moult ready for breeding.

Our Pyles are called the Thunderbolts, in homage to where they originated from (Northern New South Wales) in Australia. Originally from Irish Game Pyles, they have become blended with American fowl over the years, and at the Rebelde GF they are an infusion into our deep hatch Vipers.

We tried them with Sweater this year, with good results. Here they are, the Thunderbolt Vipers...
