Meet Marshall, one of our bravest little patients from Deca 3, Lapu-Lapu City! 🐾
We are thrilled to share that Marshall, a handsome boy successfully overcome a critical battle against parvovirus infection.

Parvovirus is a life-threatening condition, particularly in young dogs, but Marshall proved just how tough he is. While we celebrate his recovery, his journey is a vital reminder for all pet parents to ensure their pets' core vaccinations and booster shots are up to date.

🐾 Is your pet shaking their head or scratching their ears more than usual? They might be dealing with Otitis (ear infection)!
Ear infections are super common in both dogs and cats, but their symptoms and causes can look a bit different:

🐶 In Dogs:
Signs: Head shaking, persistent scratching, strong ear odor, redness, and dark discharge.
Common Causes: Allergies (food or environmental), trapped moisture/water, yeast, or bacterial buildup.

🐱 In Cats:
Signs: Severe scratching around the ears, head tilt, sensitive ears (pulling away when touched), and waxy buildup.
Common Causes: Ear mites (very common!), allergies, or underlying polyps.

Introducing a new dog into a home where another pet already lives is all about managing territory and stress. Because first impressions matter immensely to animals, taking a structured approach will prevent territorial friction and build a peaceful foundation.
1.Meet on Neutral Territory:Step 1.Do not bring the new dog straight into the house. Have a helper assist you so both dogs can meet on a loose leash at a neutral location like a quiet park or a neighbor's yard. Let them sniff briefly, then redirect their attention to keep things calm.
2.Take a Parallel Walk:Step 2.Walk both dogs in the same direction, keeping them a safe distance apart (across the street or a few yards away). Parallel walking allows them to get used to each other's movement and scent without the pressure of a face-to-face confrontation.
3.Prepare the House First:Step 3.Before walking them through the front door, temporarily put away all resident dog toys, food bowls, bones, and favorite beds. This removes immediate triggers for resource guarding (defending high-value items)4.Yard Introduction & Entry:Step 4.Bring them to your yard or right outside the home first. Once they seem relaxed, bring the resident dog inside first, followed shortly by the new dog. Keep both on loose leashes initially as they explore.5.Implement a 'Decompression' Zone:Step 5.Set up a dedicated room or a secure crate/playpen area for the new dog. For the first few days, keep them separated when unsupervised. This allows the new dog to decompress (unwind from the stress of moving) and lets them get used to each other's scents through a closed door or gate.

🐾 POOH BEAT THE ODDS! 🎉
Look at this brave, handsome face! Our sweet boy Pooh is officially out of confinement at Dr. Wes Animal Clinic, and we couldn't be prouder of him. 🥹❤️

It has been an incredibly tough road. Pooh was hit hard by a severe hookworm infection, which led to a scary battle with:

🛑 Severe vomiting

🔥 High fever

💧 Dangerous dehydration

There were moments where he looked so weak, but Pooh proved just how much of a fighter he really is. Thanks to his resilient spirit and the incredible, round-the-clock care from the amazing team at Dr. Wes Animal Clinic, he fought his way through the worst of it. 💪🐶
