Conrad × Shifu We are a PCCI registered kennel. We used to be pack of pure breed Siberian Huskies.

Originally Best Callie of Split Fire's page, but as she matured, she is now able to raise her own babies, whom we call Great Okami (our Kennel name).

When I’m watching a sad animal video

They were never “just a pet.”

They were woven into your life in ways that can be almost impossible to explain to someone who hasn’t loved an animal this deeply.

They were the first face you saw in the morning and the one waiting for you when you came home.

They were part of your routines, your decisions, your plans, your home.

You talked to them. Cared for them. Worried about them. Celebrated them. Rearranged your life for them.

They were there through ordinary Tuesdays and some of the hardest days of your life.

And when they died, you didn’t only lose their physical presence.

You lost the sound of them in the next room.
The routines built around caring for them.
The little conversations only the two of you shared.
The future you thought you still had together.

And sometimes, even a version of yourself that only
existed while they were here.

So when someone says, “it was just a pet,” they’re reducing an entire relationship down to a label.

They were someone you love.

And you are allowed to grieve them like someone you love. 🤍
