Daisy has officially been fixed! 🐱💗

This little rescue girl is estimated to be around 7 months old, and we decided that early spaying was the best choice for her overall health and well-being. ✨

Post-op recovery called for a little creativity, so we made her a DIY recovery suit from old, worn-out socks. 😂🧦

She absolutely hates it… but unfortunately, Daisy had no choice. 😅 It’s all for keeping her incision safe while she heals!

One less worry, one less unwanted litter, and a healthier future for our little rescue girl. 🥹🐾

Cheese is back! 🐰🍚

After his little pantry mischief, Cheese developed acute gastric distension (bloat) with gastrointestinal hypomotility/stasis after eating a large amount of rice.

His stomach was decompressed to relieve the gastric distension, and he was monitored closely for recurrence of bloat and signs of returning gastrointestinal motility. His owner continued monitoring him overnight, and thankfully, Cheese is doing well and has been passing plenty of p**p! 💩🐰💗

In rabbits, sudden ingestion of high-carbohydrate, low-fiber foods can disrupt normal gastrointestinal motility and contribute to GI stasis, gas accumulation, and gastric distension. Severe gastric distension can become life-threatening, so early recognition and veterinary intervention are important.

🐰 Bunny owners: Keep your rabbit’s diet primarily high in fiber, with unlimited good-quality hay, and prevent access to inappropriate foods such as rice and other starchy treats. Monitoring appetite, f***l output, and behavior can also help catch GI problems early.

And Cheese… no more pantry adventures! 😂🐰

Ragdolls and Maine C***s have a higher genetic risk for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) — a common heart disease in cats.

The tricky part? Cats with HCM may show no obvious signs in the early stages.

❤️ Regular echocardiography (heart ultrasound) can help detect heart changes early and guide proper monitoring.

If you have a Ragdoll or Maine C**n, consider adding a heart check to their routine wellness care.

This module focused on Cardiovascular Embryology and Pathophysiology and Basic Clinical Cardiovascular Examination, strengthening the foundation for accurate diagnosis and management of heart diseases in companion animals.
