The highlight of the event was the ceremonial MOA Signing between Bicol University - RAISE Bicol Program and Bicol Entrepreneur for Mushroom Agriculture Cooperative - BEMAC

The RAISE Bicol Program and Bicol Entrepreneur for Mushroom Agriculture Cooperative (BEMAC) have inked a historic MOA, marking a significant step towards collaborative growth and innovation in mushroom agriculture. This partnership is poised to benefit the local community, mushroom farmers, and the region's economy.

Yale students discovered a fungus, Pestalotiopsis microspora, in the Amazon rainforest that can digest polyurethane plastic. By releasing enzymes that break down tough chemical bonds, the fungus converts plastic into organic compounds it uses for energy, offering a natural solution to plastic pollution.

Representatives from different coops across the Bicol provinces recently attended the Operation and Management Training on Mediation and Conciliation conducted by the Cooperative Development Authority Region V funded under CFIDP.

This valuable training enhanced our capabilities in navigating disputes, promoting conciliation, and strengthening relationships among members.

We learned effective strategies for conflict resolution, communication, and building consensus – all crucial for the success of Bicol Entrepreneur for Mushroom Agriculture Cooperative - BEMAC.

We're committed to applying these learnings to foster a more cohesive and effective cooperative environment, ultimately benefiting our member-farmers and the community.
