One thing almost every dog owner wants in life is a really solid recall. Come to me! Come from a distance! Come away from your friends! Come away from that gnarly dead thing!

Try to teach this all at once, and you’re in for a lot of frustration… teach it one little game at a time, and it is pure joy. Start recall games when they’re young, and a couple of minutes a day can snowball into an amazing habit.

If it’s too late to start your dog early… the next best time is today!

Last year Quest suddenly had his exercise and training options severely restricted while he recovered from an injury. Which forced me to spend a lot of time rummaging through the category of 'tricks you can perform standing still' to keep that busy little brain occupied. Not my preferred neck of the woods (not his either) but we had some fun!

Great dog trainers spend time thinking about what their dog is motivated by. If only this one would give me more clues....
