Shar Pei/mastiff pups,
9 months old,
boy and girl (siblings),
vaxed, will be desexed (booked in for next week),
up to date with worming and flea treatment, registered and chipped.

These dogs have grown up together, sharing a house with 3 kids and two adults.
They are playful and loving, enjoy hugs and pats, and know basic commands (sit, wait, come).
House trained

They are beautiful dogs. Very loving and this decision hasn't been made lightly.

Chewy Chonks (boy, tan) and Lilly the Shark (girl, brindle).
Lilly loves bones and basking in the sun, Chewy loves ANY food and loves playing with sticks, balls, etc.

📍From the owner:

I’m providing as much information as I can about my two girls, Moko and Tiny, so you have a clear understanding of their background, personalities and circumstances.

Moko was born on 1 May 2023, and Tiny was born on 18 February 2023. They are both mixed-breed girls. Tiny is a small to medium sized dog, while Moko is a taller, medium sized dog.

It was an extremely difficult and uncertain time, and I had to ask around to see if anyone could help care for my girls while we tried to find somewhere stable needed.
Unfortunately only a temporary placement was found & they now need somewhere safe & stable where they will be cared for.

Both girls were raised indoors and are used to being part of a home environment. They have always been around other dogs and are very good with dogs. They were also raised around small children and are very good with children.
Moko is very playful and energetic, although she can also be quite shy. She may take some time to feel comfortable, but once she does, her playful personality comes through.
Tiny is very playful and energetic. She is affectionate and particularly loves attention and being around people.
Neither girl has had formal training. They are not desexed, vaccinated or microchipped. They have no known health issues. They are used to sleeping indoors.
They have not been raised around cats, so I would not recommend placing them in a home with cats.
Having to give my girls up is an incredibly difficult decision. I love them dearly, and under different circumstances I would never have considered rehoming them. But given the difficult situation Im currently in, I know I need to make the decision that gives Moko and Tiny the best opportunity for a safe, stable and properly cared for.

I hope this information gives you a genuine picture of who my girls are and what they have been through.

We sometimes get Negative and unhelpful comments towards the owners causing distress to a family already experiencing difficulties ,this can sometimes prevent someone in need from reaching out so be kind , we can't change a dogs past.,but we can change its future ♥️
,the focus is finding care for these two Dogs 🙏

At least 70% of our Rescue's are pups found Dumped, Neglected & left to die...
Or from unwanted Pregnancy 's ..

Many Dog owners in our Community want to Desex but the Costs prevent people from being able to afford this especially those on Benefits & Pensioner's

When we receive a Request of help with a litter in the community our First support offered Is to have Mum Desexed

One of the Most important part of our Mission at Bilbo's is to Prevent the Amount of unwanted & neglected dogs by Desexing , but we cannot do this alone

After gathering the documents we needed from a Registered Vet & Registered Animal charity (Thankyou to both of you♥️)
We just just missed the Spca campaign deadline to get vouchers we could use in the community 😔 the next one doesn't come thru til next year!!

We have Fundraised ourselves to get Dogs desexed in the past , providing support to Families in hardship who cannot afford to do it themselves.

🎀At the moment we have 3 Community Cases🎀

2 have just had a litter..(we are providing ongoing support to Re-home the pups)

1 is a pup who is now ready for desex

Our Current price at a local vets is $700

If anyone has just desexed in Tauranga please let us know if there is something more affordable

This sweet, helpless pup now named Amy was found abandoned inside a rubbish bin. She was confused, cold, and terrified, left behind as if her life didn't matter.
But Amy is a fighter. Thanks to a quick-thinking member of our community, she was rescued and brought straight into the safety of Bilbo’s Dogpaws Rescue.

Right now, Amy is safe in a loving, warm foster home, learning that hands can be gentle and that she will never have to search for food or safety again... But her journey to full recovery—and the journeys of so many other dogs arriving at our doorstep—requires a village.
