One of our amazing foster families has organised a quiz night to fundraise for IBKC 😻

Get a team together and enjoy a fun evening with a quiz, spot prizes, raffles, and some homemade donated goodies you can buy for yourself or your own itty bitty kitty 🐾

Whether you excell in one particular area or have knowledge in many fields, this quiz is for you! With 10 rounds of topics, bonus questions, and a joker to try your luck in a double points round, you can be sure to have a good night and a shot at being quiz champ 🏆

Drinks can be purchased from Taihape Workingmens Club and be brought through to the club rooms, we will also have a $2 sausage sizzle going all night 🌭
Please bring cash!

Dill update 🤍

Today, after introducing a couple of my cats through the crate and letting Dill see them getting love, our colony boy started purring 🥹

He was really interested in my cats and chirped away... Unfortunately they were not as interested in him, and after a quick nose-to-nose and a thorough sniff of the rest of the bathroom, they wanted out 😹

I left the bathroom and not long after heard Dill meowing for the first time ever! I quickly went back in because even with our shy strays, after introducing other cats, I've found this means "company please" and is often followed by another step forward.

Dill continued to talk to me and when I opened the crate he gave my hand a good sniff as usual, but then he started to purr.. And the more I talked to him, the louder the purrs got 🥹

The best part? The purrs return every time I check in with him 🤍

Dill was supposed to go back to the colony tomorrow but will remain in care over the weekend so that I can feel confident his ear tip has healed well.

After paying bills and purchasing some food we have $160 in our account, so every $1 truly helps us continue to care for the kitties in house and the colony.

Adoption fees do not cover all treatments and necessities provided to the kitties while in care but, along with wonderful donations, they cover enough to keep us going.
TNR kitties require the same treatments and necessities, but there is no adoption fee. By supporting our fundraisers, donating outside of these, or dropping physical donations to our collection points, you are not only helping the kitties that can go on to find homes, you are also helping those who cannot find homes live out the rest of their days healthier and free from reproduction.. Thank you so much 🤍

Our colony TNR boy will be returned this week and I will be trapping for the next lucky kitty 😻

Meet Chris and Spritz 🤍
Location - Bulls

They are approximately 5.5 month old brothers who were rescued from a rest stop and have been in care since May.
The boys were originally put up for adoption separately but, after being reunited in foster care, their foster parents have found they have a strong bond and should find a home together.
We would love to find the boys a forever home together so have adjusted the adoption fee to $350 for the pair 🤍

Their foster mama says -
If you're looking for sweet and affectionate companions, meet Spritz and Chris! These 2 gorgeous brothers love pets, cuddles, playtime and are always found together - whether having fun, eating or competing for scritches, they brighten up every room with their characters and purrs. Spritz plays the role of older brother, looking out for Chris, including giving him first dibs on food! While Chris is the quintessential younger bro - equally keen to catch Spritz' tail as much as snuggle up close 😻

The boys are still shy with strangers after living their first few months of life outside, isolated from humans. They might take some time to settle in when adopted, but once they trust you they will give you all of their love 🤍
