Worlds B Final Champions 🥇🇳🇿🇫🇷

We went in with a strategy and had our fingers crossed it would pay off. We knew we weren’t the fastest team out there, but we did our best to run a clean couple of finals and let the others make their mistakes. It was certainly close, sitting tied for first with Northern Ireland (on their own ponies and who certainly had the speed) with 3 races to go but we won it with a 5 point lead!!

So cool to see Evie and Ru have made the NZ team for the PCIA Virtual Dressage Champs! Excited to see what they can do and hopefully they both have a great time!

🇫🇷🇳🇿World Team Champs 2026 sessions 🇳🇿🇫🇷

We ran a condensed three long sessions of 13 races due to the 38 degree heat 🥵 in the middle of the day. A brilliant first session for us left us in 8th and within reach of the A final. But unfortunately a bit of a disaster of a first race in the second session for the team set the tone for our last two sessions leave us heading into the B final

These days 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘀 juggles dressage with mounted games, so let's dial back a couple of years to hear what the Interschools meant to her:
Hi Interschools Family! I’m Gemma Lewis and I took part in Interschools champs week in 2022 and 2023, in Christchurch. I competed in all the disciplines available at the time (CTR, dressage, SJ & SH and arena eventing) on my superstar of a pony! Being that I competed in interschools the first time it was run as a champs week, I wasn’t quite sure how it would work! I had competed in the individual interschools competitions for a few different disciplines separately, but CTR was something I had never done before, so I guess I was excited to give it a try!
𝗠𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆: In the first year that interschools was run, we had some quite competitive individuals but we often struggled to put a full team together for each discipline. Interschools champs week meant that we all got to compete together and support each other and we ended up winning overall too!
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝘄: I am currently halfway through a double degree, Bachelor of Engineering with Honours and a Bachelor of Science, at the University of Canterbury alongside riding. We have created ELDR Equestrian alongside my family, through which we are breeding and producing horses across many disciplines. I am mostly focused on dressage and mounted games at the moment (though you will definitely still see me out jumping) – I recently won the Kings Chambers FEI Dressage Young Rider series and am actually currently over in Europe to compete in the World Team Championships and the Royal Welsh Show (for mounted games), both as part of the NZ team!
𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲: For young riders planning to compete at Interschools this year, give everything a go, support your team and most importantly have fun!

What an amazing experience I had at the Royal Welsh Show 2026 riding for the NZ team 🖤🤍 and so much fun! I couldn’t be more grateful to Poppy and Amy Dixon for letting me borrow Bee and being the best pony lenders I could ask for, I had the best time with her! Prettiest pony 😍

Thank you to Jessie Sheffield🐮🌾🐴 for being our coach, NFU Mutual for sponsoring the competitions and a huge thank you to my sponsors BTB. While over in Wales, I was wearing
