You may be wondering why the EquiPair website is down- we promise it's for a good reason!
We have been doing a mega site upgrade, both visually and behind the scenes. Our whole site has had a design overhaul (as seen in this reel ;), but more importantly we have been working hard on making the website more secure than your girth straps, and our horse tracking database more stable than your favourite riders lower leg! We will be back up and running in the next month or so ;) (btw I sped up the video- the horse is not trotting THAT fast on the actual website 🤣).

Grace and her beautiful pony won 1st best walk, 2nd best trott, 3rd best mannered, 4th best rider 13-16 PLUS she earned herself an EquiPair bear in the pleasure pony ring!! Not only did Grace have a very successful show- she also turned a big 13 yesterday! Congrats again Grace, and Happy birthday 🄰

The EquiPair bears & the bear that started it all!

Keep your eyes out for them at Pukekone Show!! šŸ‘€

Sponsorship is essential for our sport, but it isn't always the monetary sponsorship we remember the longest. It's the sashes, rugs, garlands, product etc (although a bit of cash never goes astray, especially in this economy ;) ).

20 years ago I won my little brown bear at the North Island Premier Showing Championships for being the hardest trier.
That was probably the best prize I could have won as a little person, and to this day I still cherish my showing bear (although he is missing his top hat now).

That's why when I was asked to do something for Pukekohe Show, I was never going to donate anything other than bears for our georgous little people on their sweet little ponies. Our hardest triers, our cutestest combinations, and our spot prizes in lead rein & pleasure lead rein- these are for you!

See you at Puke Show this weekend- let's make some memories!

Riding: Learn to Show Clinic - Pukekohe A&P Prep

With Pukekohe A&P just around the corner, a relaxed and supportive ā€œLearn to Showā€/not feel terrible about the idea of showing Clinic is being held this Saturday 14th, 4:00–5:30pm at Pongarosa Equestrian Center for riders who want to compete but feel a bit nervous or unsure what to expect.

The main goal is to make the show ring feel far less scary, so you can go into the day feeling confident and less stressed (hopefully) 🄰

The session is run by Jess Davies- a long-time showie and adult lecturer, who understands both the technical side of showing and how to teach it in a clear, encouraging, and judgement free way.

The clinic will cover:

• Gear essentials for horse and rider (brief & practical)
• Ringcraft: starting direction, spacing, using the ring well, and understanding workouts (+practice)
• What judges are really looking for and how to give that
• Lining up for placings, lap of honour, and other show ring etiquette
• Mock classes with real-time coaching and encouragement

*Please note:* this clinic focuses on **riding confidence and ringcraft**, rather than grooming or turnout.

This is a mounted clinic, but observers are totally welcome at no cost.

I’ve been LOVING everyone else’s so I just had to jump in on this trend!

Ask ChatGPT to 'Create a caricature based on what you know about me'.

This one cracks me up- I’m deep in the tech, but also there’s a horse inside my house? If I’m being honest, having my horses inside my house is an absolute dream which I think needs to become a reality asap (sorry landlord!)šŸ˜…

Post yours below- I’d love to see it!

CALL TO ACTION - TO OUR HORSE WHĀNAU
Our whānau are mamae. We cry with them. They are strong, tough, and resilient; but this is heavy, this is heartbreaking, and we are all feeling it.

The far East Cape region (Kopuapounamu, Awatere, Te Araroa, Horoera, Punaruku, Hicks Bay, Wharekahika, Pōtaka, Waikura) has been hit hard by severe weather and flooding.
Homes have been damaged. Communities have been cut off. Rivers have overflowed. State Highway 35 has been impacted. Whānau have been evacuated.

When people think of Māori horse shows, they instantly think of the Ngāti horse;
East Coast bred. Strong. Tough. Built like their people.

He Wiwi. He Naati.

These horses come from this whenua. So do the people. This is whakapapa. This is home. As horse people, storytellers, riders, and a community built on mana, aroha, and resilience, this is the moment we stand up.

These platforms:
Get Your Leg Over, Native Ride Television Series, Tui Teka’s Trails, Hōiho - Riding On, Te Hapori Hōiho - The National Māori Horse Association Aotearoa Trust
- were built to celebrate our people.
NOW OUR PEOPLE NEED US.
