Monty 🥰
I'm sad to say that Monty went to live with another foster family today. I want to make it clear that this was through no fault of his own! Our grumpy boy Finn simply couldn't accept him and was very unhappy having him in our home.
We knew Finn might struggle with a high-energy puppy, but Monty was super chill at our initial meet and greet. Finn was unsure about him, but not aggressive, so we genuinely thought it might work — that he might at least tolerate him. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case 😔
Finn was clearly anxious and couldn't tolerate Monty coming near him. We tried different setups to keep them separated, but that turned out to be stressful for me, having to choose between spending time with my boy in the lounge or entertaining Monty in the kitchen 🥴
I feel really bad that we couldn't make it work, but it wasn't fair on Monty, who deserves to feel safe and have a dog companion who at least tolerates him. It wasn't fair on Finn, either. This is his home, and he deserves to feel comfortable in it, even if his behavior wasn't what we'd hoped for.
But again, this wasn't Monty's fault! He's a confident, curious little guy, and I'm sure he'll make one family very happy ❤️
