❣️Re-Homed❣️

🐾 Meet Bella 🐾

This gorgeous little girl, Bella, has now been in foster care for the past two weeks in the Tasman area, near Kina Beach. ❤️

Bella is now around 10–12 weeks old and is proving to be an absolute sweetheart. She has a lovely, gentle nature and is a very intelligent little girl who is learning quickly.

🏡 Bella's personality & progress

🐾 Bella is crate trained and doing really well. She now sleeps right through the night until around 6am.
🐾 She is very good with my eight-year-old son.
🐾 She is gradually getting to know my two cats and is settling in well with them.
🐾 She has a sweet, affectionate nature and loves attention and cuddles.
🐾 She is intelligent and eager to learn.

Bella is still a young puppy, so her new family will need to have the time, patience and commitment required to continue her training, socialisation and development. We would particularly love to see Bella's new family take her to puppy training classes so she can continue growing into a happy, confident adult dog. ❤️

💉 Bella has now had her first vaccination.

💕 Adoption Fee: $450

Her adoption fee includes: • First vaccination
• Microchipping
• Desexing when she is old enough

📍 Location: Tasman, near Kina Beach

If you think you could provide Bella with the loving, committed home she deserves, please get in touch.

💕 Dottie is looking for her forever home 💕

Dottie is a beautiful 5-year-old speyed American Bulldog x German Shepherd girl with a gorgeous temperament and so much love to give.

Dottie is a loving, loyal and easy-going girl who has been brought up around other dogs and absolutely loves having cats as part of the family. 🐶🐱 She has also previously been around stock with no problems or issues at all.

Dottie is happiest being part of the family. She loves a good back scratch and belly rub, and after some casual exercise, she's more than happy to settle in as a couch potato and enjoy some quality time with her people. ❤️

She has great house manners and is an absolute sweetheart. She's also a good watchdog and will definitely let you know if someone arrives — whether it's an expected visitor during the day or something untoward happening at 2am! 😂

When you come home, Dottie will greet you with her huge body wag and a toy to share. 🥰

Dottie is being reluctantly rehomed due to changing circumstances, so finding the right home for her is incredibly important. She deserves a loving family who will welcome her as one of their own and give her the forever home she deserves.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, beautifully tempered girl who is just as happy having a cuddle on the couch as she is enjoying a wander, Dottie could be your girl. 🐾❤️

🚨 PARVO CASES REPORTED IN THE AREA

We just wanted to give our clients a heads-up that there have been a couple of confirmed parvo cases locally, and a reminder of how you can help protect your dog.

🦠 What is parvo?
Parvovirus is highly contagious and can cause severe vomiting, diarrhoea with blood, dehydration and lethargy. It can become life threatening very quickly, particularly in puppies and unvaccinated dogs.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific medication that simply “cures” parvovirus. Treatment involves intensive supportive care while the dog’s body fights off the virus. Because parvo is highly contagious, affected dogs also need to be strictly isolated from other patients during treatment. This means treating parvo can be a long and costly process, and sadly, even with intensive treatment, some dogs may not survive.

💉 Vaccination is the best protection.
Parvovirus is a core vaccination for dogs, and keeping your dog's vaccinations up to date is the best thing you can do to protect them.

🩸 Prefer not to vaccinate?
Titre testing can be discussed with your vet. This can check for antibodies against parvovirus and help assess whether your dog has evidence of immunity.

🐶 If your puppy is under 16 weeks and hasn’t had their final vaccination
🚫 Avoid public areas where other dogs have been
🚫 Avoid contact with unknown dogs and puppies
🚫 Avoid dog parks and other high risk areas

Your puppy can still socialise with adult dogs you know are healthy and up to date with their vaccinations and other puppies who have had at least their first vaccination, are healthy and whose vaccination status you know

🚨 If your dog develops vomiting, diarrhoea with blood, lethargy or stops eating, please contact us promptly. Please call us before coming into the clinic so we can arrange to assess and test your dog outside first, helping us keep our other patients safe. 🐾

📞 As always if you have any questions or concerns feel free to give the team a call!

Writing
🐾 Meet Bella 🐾
This sweet little girl, Bella, was recently surrendered from Golden Bay. She is believed to be around 9 weeks old, and her breed is unknown at this stage.
Bella is currently in foster care in Richmond and is proving to be an absolute sweetheart. ❤️ She loves cuddles, is good with other dogs and children, and has an inquisitive nature. She is quick to learn new things and has already learnt to sit when asked and is being crate trained.
She has a lovely, chilled personality and will absolutely melt into your arms if you give her little belly a scratch. 🥰
🏡 What Bella Needs
Bella is only 9 weeks old, so we're looking for a family or individual who has the time, patience and commitment needed to raise a young puppy. Puppyhood is a big responsibility, and Bella's new family will need to be committed to her training, socialisation and ongoing development.
We would particularly like her new family to attend puppy training classes and give her the time and guidance she needs to grow into a happy, confident adult dog.
💕 Adoption Fee: $450
Bella's adoption fee includes:
Two vaccinations
Microchipping
Desexing when she is old enough
📍 Location: Richmond, Tasman

Meet Blaze ❤️ — A Gentle Senior Looking for His Forever Home

Blaze is a handsome 12-year-old Dalmatian × Labrador who has a huge heart and plenty of life and love left to give. 🐾

Despite his age, Blaze can still be wonderfully active. He loves going for walks (although shorter walks suit his hind leg best), swimming at the beach or in rivers, going for car rides, chasing sticks and balls, and playing with his favourite toys. He is especially devoted to his beloved chew log and will happily bring it along with him!

Blaze is a super-friendly, affectionate boy who enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. He currently lives happily with two other dogs, two cats and five humans, and he loves a good play or simply being near his people.

When the sun is out, Blaze enjoys spending time outside sleeping or playing, but he is equally happy snoozing inside. He has his own bed but would much rather sleep alongside his humans if given the choice. ❤️

Blaze is well behaved, toilet trained and walks nicely on a lead. When off lead, he listens well and, if he gets too far ahead, will stop and wait when called. He can be quite the character, too—he is vocal when you talk to him, will stand in front of you when he wants to go outside or for a walk, and may let out an enthusiastic “scream” of excitement when he sees someone he knows!

A little about Blaze's leg 🐾

Blaze has a permanently sore hind leg from a car accident when he was younger. Unfortunately, it never healed correctly. This hasn't stopped him from enjoying life, but he does have limitations. He can get himself into a car, although after a longer walk, he may need some help getting back in. Swimming is a fantastic activity for him and one he absolutely loves.

Blaze is not neutered.

He is currently registered in Tasman, regularly wormed and flea treated, and his vaccinations are up to date.

He will come to his new home with his bed, bowl, lead, collar, and favourite chew toys.

What Blaze is looking for ❤️

Blaze's ideal home is one where his humans are around most of the time. He can be left alone, but he doesn't enjoy it and can become lonely and upset.

His current owner is away at sea for weeks or months at a time, working on a fishing boat. The original plan was for Blaze to live at home with his owner's brother, but with nobody home during the day, it has become clear that this isn't the life Blaze deserves.

This is an incredibly difficult decision for his current owner, but it is being made with Blaze's happiness and well-being at heart.

Blaze would thrive with someone who is home most of the time, enjoys having a loyal companion by their side, and can give him a little activity without expecting too much from his older body.

He deserves a loving forever home where he can spend his senior years feeling cherished and never lonely. ❤️

If you think you could be the person Blaze is waiting for, please call 027 494 7946.

Please share Blaze's story—his perfect person may be out there. 🐶❤️

🐾 SHADE IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🐾

Meet Shade, a beautiful 1-year-old Black Labrador x American Bully who is looking for a new home where she can get the time, attention, exercise and love she deserves. ❤️

Shade has a beautiful nature and is a fun-loving, energetic young dog. She absolutely loves water, running around, playing and chewing on her favourite toys. She has lots of energy and would love an active home with someone who has plenty of time to play with her and continue her training.

🏡 About Shade: • 1 year old — born 7 August 2025
• Female, not desexed
• Black Lab x American Bully
• Toilet trained
• Crate trained — sleeps happily in her crate at night
• Enjoys car rides
• Has lived with young children
• Has lived with cats
• Enjoys playing and socialising with other dogs, particularly dogs her own size
• Has never bitten a person or another dog
• No known health issues
• Loves water and outdoor adventures
• Comes with her crate and food

Shade can be very excitable. When she sees another dog on a walk, she wants to say hello and may pull on the lead, but this is excitement rather than aggression. She can also be a little jumpy and sometimes takes a little while to respond to commands, so a new owner who is willing to continue her training would be ideal.

She is generally happy when left alone and currently spends around four hours a day by herself. She is a good little watchdog and may bark at visitors she doesn't recognise when they arrive at the gate.

💗 Why is Shade being rehomed?

Shade's current family has been given 90 days' notice on their home and are finding it extremely difficult to secure another rental with her. With two young children and a partner with a permanent injury who is unable to give Shade the attention, exercise and training she needs, they feel that finding her a wonderful new home is the best thing for her.

They want Shade to have the best life possible with someone who has plenty of time for her, enjoys an active dog and will give her lots of love, patience, play and continued training.

Shade is looking for a committed home that understands that she is a young, energetic dog and is prepared to give her the structure and exercise she needs.

📞 Please contact Caitlin on +6421597778 if you think Shade could be the right dog for you.

Meet Aslan, a 15-month-old bundle of energy and personality!
Aslan is an American Bulldog x Shar Pei....

Aslan is the ultimate adventure buddy—he absolutely loves going out and about, and nothing gets his tail wagging faster than the sound of the car keys ready for a ride.🐶

He’s a funny mix of traits: a total couch potato when it's time to relax, but eager and full of heart when there's work to be done. Unsurprisingly, food is his absolute favorite thing in the world, though he can be a little pushy when he knows treats are around!

When it comes to social settings, Aslan can be a bit unpredictable around new dogs and some people at first. However, with the right, patient introduction, his sweet side shines through and he does really well.

With his big heart, hardworking spirit, and love for life (and snacks!), Aslan is truly one-of-a-kind.

🐾 MEET TAHI – LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME 🐾

Tahi | 3 years old | Male Labrador Mix | Desexed

Tahi is a gorgeous, loving and very happy boy with a huge personality and an equally huge heart! ❤️

He is a playful, affectionate and energetic dog who absolutely loves being outside. Walks, exploring, running around and spending time with his people are some of his favourite things. He would be best suited to an active person, couple or family who enjoys getting outdoors and can give him plenty of exercise, attention and companionship.

At home, Tahi is a big cuddle bug who loves being close to his people. Once he's had enough exercise, he is very happy to relax and sleep. He's a goofy, affectionate boy with lots of love to give.

🐶 Tahi and other dogs

Tahi enjoys interacting and playing with other dogs and has never shown aggression towards another dog. When he sees another dog while out walking, he can get very excited and pull towards them because he wants to say hello! He responds really well to training treats, which help him refocus.

🐱 Tahi and other animals

Tahi currently lives around cats, rats and chickens and has been very good with them. He's gentle and playful and hasn't shown aggression towards them. He's also been around cows. They make him very curious and he'll bark at them, but he isn't aggressive.

👧 Tahi and children

Tahi has been around children of different ages, including a 2-year-old, and has been friendly and happy around them. Because he is a strong and energetic boy who can become very excited and jumpy, supervision would be recommended around very young children. He could accidentally knock a little one over when excited, although this has never happened.

🏡 At home

Tahi is: ✔️ Toilet trained
✔️ Desexed
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Comfortable in a kennel and run
✔️ Happy being left alone for around 4 hours
✔️ Good in the car
✔️ Food motivated and responsive to training
✔️ No history of biting a person or another dog
✔️ No known health issues

He currently sleeps both inside and outside and is comfortable with a kennel/run setup. His kennel, run and crate can go with him to his new home.

❤️ Why is Tahi looking for a new home?

His owner is moving from Motueka to Christchurch to study and work and is also expecting a baby. Unfortunately, finding pet-friendly accommodation within her budget has proved extremely difficult, and she no longer feels she can give Tahi the time and attention he deserves.

This is a very difficult decision for her, and finding the right home for Tahi is much more important than simply finding him somewhere quickly.

✨ THE HOME WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Tahi needs a family who will include him as part of their lives and give him the exercise, stimulation, affection and attention that this energetic boy needs.

A home with plenty of space would be wonderful, but most importantly, his new family needs to enjoy an active lifestyle and have the time to give Tahi plenty of walks, adventures, training and love.

He really is a happy, affectionate, goofy boy with so much love to give. His owner wants nothing more than for him to find a family who will love him as much as she does. ❤️

📍 Currently in Motueka, Tasman

Meet Cookie....🐕🐶
Located in Motueka..
Hes a 2yr old collie lab x fixed, toilet trained and crate trained.
Cookie is a very sweet boy, loves to play with the ball, sticks and tugawar, hes very social with other dogs.
Cookie is very gentle when taking a treat and will offer a paw as a thank you, however Cookie needs to be fed his meals on his own undisturbed, I assume theres some trauma there around food and gets anxious someone may take it.
Cookie still has some puppy behaviours in that he likes to chase things if they run, the training around the chickens and cat that he lives with is still ongoing.
Cookie hasn't had much training on a lead and pulls, I have been using a halti which works magic I suggest purchasing 1 of these for him to learn walking on a lead, he walks well with us amd stays close off lead
Cookie is not a small dog, he weighs 30kg and is very tall, in saying that he doesnt clear coffee tables with his tail or behaves unruly around the house, in fact he will take himself off to his crate when he gets tired and have a nap.
Cookie will bark somewhat when visitors come, he makes a great door bell or burglar deterrent
I think Cookie would suit most families, he doesnt need excessive exercise like some breeds, a moderate outing walk daily is sufficient, he would like a home with another dog his size to play with but isnt necessary 🐕🐕

Meet Boy – Looking for His Forever Home ❤️
Boy's story hasn't been an easy one, but despite everything he's been through, he has a huge heart and so much love to give.
We were given the opportunity to take Boy from his original owner after he had spent his entire life chained up outside a workshop. He had very little exposure to the world around him—cars, other dogs, different environments, and even simple things like grass were completely new to him. The ground beneath his feet had always been dirt, and food was often thrown to him from a passing car. He didn't even have a name.
Since coming into our care, Boy has made remarkable progress. He has embraced life with an enthusiasm that's inspiring to watch. What was once a frightening and unfamiliar world has become something he wants to explore.
Boy now enjoys car rides and happily settles in the back seat, although he doesn't enjoy being left in the car. Car horns are still something he finds upsetting and he'll let everyone know about it with his bark. He loves adventures and exploring new places, whether that's beaches, walking tracks, or anywhere new. He's confident in unfamiliar environments and approaches life with curiosity. He has even joined us on short 5km runs and is learning how to run politely on a lead, although he'll still happily try to chase a pukeko if given the chance!
He forms particularly strong bonds with men, but he is friendly with everyone and craves affection and attention. Boy has recently discovered the joys of cuddling and loves nothing more than curling up next to you on the couch. After a lifetime without simple comforts, he is soaking up every bit of love he can get.
He's also learning how to be a dog. He never really played before, but he's starting to show interest in playing with other dogs. He's discovered bones and now loves chewing on them after being taught what they were for. He can still be enthusiastic and is working on not jumping up on people when he's excited to meet them.
Boy will need a patient and understanding owner who can continue his training. He currently has very little recall outside the home and can chew through fabric leads, so secure management is essential. However, with consistency, kindness, and structure, Boy has shown that he is capable of learning and adapting.
What Boy needs most is what he was denied for so many years: love, attention, companionship, and a family to call his own. He has all the potential to become someone's loyal best friend and devoted companion.
We care deeply about Boy and would love to stay in touch with his new family if possible, so we can continue to see him thrive in the life he truly deserves.
