Twelve Oaks is a 700 acre property running beef cattle and breeding the rare and very beautiful Gypsy Vanner horse. We also build high performance race cars which family members race successfully around NZ. We have on offer Group Tours which includes the Gypsy Vanner Stud, the Gardens and the Race Shop where we build the Race Cars. We have something for everyone with our Tours which have become ve

ry popular. We also offer Devonshire Teas with our Tours if desired. For the horse lovers we have phenomenal facilities including 700 acres to ride on with rivers all around, swimming holes to die for, plus a huge indoor arena which is fully enclosed. This arena is a total of 80m x 32m with the latest technology footing designed by Kentucky Horse Park in the USA. The indoor includes a 15m round pen and lovely colourful show jumps which are made of safe materials so no chance of injury to your horse. We also have a 60 x 40m outdoor sand arena and outdoor 18m round pen. The horse areas include some obstacles to train with such as bridges, seesaws, cowboy curtains, archways, platforms etc.etc. Treks are usually for groups of 6 or more riders and vary in difficulty depending on rider ability. All treks are BYO horse.

ATTENTION ALL DRIVERS (especially those unfamiliar with horses):
Please don’t cut in front of a horse trailer just because there’s a large gap. That space is there for a reason — it’s not that we’re driving slowly, but that we need extra distance to stop safely.

Horses inside the trailer need a smooth, steady ride. Taking turns slowly and braking gently helps them stay balanced. A sudden stop or sharp turn can seriously injure them — or even cause the trailer to tip over.

In the photo, the mare has very limited space, and her foal is lying directly beneath her. She’s trying her best to stand still and protect her baby. The best way I can help her is by driving with care.

Please be patient and give us room. Most people don’t mean harm — they just don’t realize what’s at stake. Thanks so much ❤ ❤

Welcome to Twelve Oaks Ranch. We created this page to help our followers find our goings on with one click! We breed Black Baldy cattle (a cross between angus and hereford), Gypsy Vanner Horses the prettiest safest horse breed in the world, and of course the Boulton Racing Team. We not only run the ranch ourselves, but we do all the breeding training and show casing of our horses and building/competing the race cars, so lots going on here. Follow us to keep informed of our events, shenanigans, successes and booboos! We welcome you all.
