Club Day – Forest Ride

Today we swapped the arena for the forest and headed out for a trail ride

It was a great morning riding through the beautiful forest, enjoying the scenery, getting the horses out and about, and most importantly, having a great time together as a club.

This was our first lot of 1½ hours of trail riding towards our Federation Trail Riding hours. It was a great way to get out, enjoy the beautiful forest, and start building up those trail riding hours together.

Thanks to everyone who came along — we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

KWRC MEMORIAL DAY – SUNDAY 4 OCTOBER 2026
A day to remember, ride, and celebrate together.
We invite all KWRC members to join us for our annual Memorial Show, held in tribute to the members who have passed before us.
We invite all members to ride in either English or Western gear!
The first Memorial Show was held in March 1990, in memory of Stan Short, hence its original name – the Stan Short Memorial.
Stan was a true gentleman who competed and strongly encouraged all riders. He was a great promoter of the versatility of our Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas.
The Memorial Show continues this tradition as a relaxed day for our members to come together, have some fun, enjoy our horses and show our respect and remembrance.

Arrive: 9:00 am
Ready to Ride: 9:30 am
DIVISIONS
Riders will split into two divisions:
Rookie
Open.
Except for specified youth classes.
THE PROGRAMME
Class 1 – Leadline 11 years & under
Class 2 – Leadline Trail 11 years & under
Class 3 – Walk & Jog 11 years & under
Classes 4 & 5 – Horsemanship
Classes 6 & 7 –Rail / Western Pleasure
Classes 8 & 9 – Versatility
Classes 10 & 11 Games
Classes 12 & 13 – Topp Trail
Prizegiving & BBQ will follow the classes.

Ribbons 🎀
Does anyone have any ribbons that they would like to recycle? With our KWRC Memorial Show back to its original format this year, we’d love to use it as a recycled ribbon day if we could.

A fabulous turn out for our August Clubday with 10 horses and a couple of people on foot.
Thanks so incredibly much to James for taking the time to lead and teach at our club day, we all learnt a lot and you’re a wealth of knowledge. Everyone had a fantastic time. (Even if a few of us are a little stiff this morning) 😂
Thanks again to James and Jozette for the use of your incredible grounds.
