Buster was thrilled to be out with his friends, after having the week off due to some minor surgery. He chased everyone who wanted to be chased. Charlie found a tennis ball 🎾 and wasn’t giving that up! It was a gorgeous Autumn afternoon, and the dogs had a blast. They are just delightful.

Bella had to ride in the back of the van. Moose was in the front and we still had to drop him home. The carry-on from Bella because she wasn’t riding shotgun was next level. 😂😂. In the language of blue Staffi’s, she was giving it heaps. Not barking, talking! Something about the Boss not riding in the back. The disrespect she was being shown and how can she spot cats if she can’t see out the window? The second Moose was in his gate, Bella was promoted to the front seat. Oh the serenity! One very happy Boss.

Ritchie always, without fail, is first to the pond. He gets wet and then races back to me to show me. His preferred method is a vigorous shake off, right beside me. 😩. Horror when he’s found a manky pond. It’s like watching a tsunami approaching and knowing there’s no way you’re going to outrun it. The dogs had a marvellous time roaring around Oreti Sands. Moose arrived back from his possum hunting. The dogs wondered who he was and why he was coming with us. The state of him, they knew not to ask too many questions. Bowie still deciding if swimming is for him. Coco trialled all her crew mates, in one on one sprints.

Great fun in the pond today with the Golden Retriever bros, Monty and Beau. Lucy and Odin enjoyed a few games of chase. Meadow likes to join in but hates to be caught 😂. Fleur had a lovely pink jacket on. She rolled it off in a muddy patch within minutes of exiting the van. 😲. Moose went hunting as we were leaving. He returned from his hunting 30 minutes into the second adventure of the day. He better have caught a brace of possums. He was exhausted, so chances are Pitt Road forest has had a major cull.

Ted’s team had great fun vying for possession of a tennis ball 🎾. Sirius was very fast at fetching it and Ari was giving it his all, but couldn’t beat him. Eventually, Sirius dropped it and Ari scooped in, but it was too big for his mouth 😂😂. Made sure to stifle my laughter. Didn’t want Ari to be offended 😉. Winston, Lenny and Moose ran like the ground was lava. Lenny is still trying to catch a fantail. They deliberately tease him. Left them and started on the magpies! I had visions of retaliatory swooping by the magpies, so we headed for the pond. I’m sure they don’t swim.

Winnie is back in action, having had a couple of weeks off after being fixed. Apparently, she was very unhappy about being left at home, as she was 100% good to go the day after surgery 😆. Yeah right, Winnie. Nelson (miniature schnauzer) came out with the crew this morning. He was warmly welcomed and included in the games of chase. One round was enough for him, he wisely cozied up with Geri and Molly and explored interesting stuff with them.

The Hairy Maclary crew had some epic games of chase. Murphy wrestled a large stick out of the long grass, carried it long enough to be the envy of his mates and then quietly ditched it, far too heavy. Buster is out this week as he had to have surgery on his mouth. We look forward to seeing him next week, hopefully there’s no ‘trout pout’. 😂

The Lab Lad’s crew have evolved over the past years. The Originals, led by the King, Sooty, were devoted to their craft of stroll, sniff and p*e. Finn and Fleur are trying their best to uphold the traditions but these young guns are into high sp*ed chasing, stick and pine cone mining and possum hunting at a professional level (Moose). They are always ready for adventure and prone to egging each other into ridiculousness. Finn cruising along at the back, mumbling under his breath ‘I won’t be hurried’.
